koshii answered Saturday October 11 2008, 9:51 pm: Bad words were invented to give anger and frustration an outlet. The emotions that fuel them are negative (generally). The reaction you feel when you say them is your own brain's reaction to feeling a negative emotion and then expressing it. Even if you didn't use a 'bad word' in particular, but said all sorts of cruel and violent things without saying "a bad word", you would feel the same way. That law (God's Law) was invented to help people understand their emotions and try to keep anger from hurting themselves and others. By saying it's "against God", it helps people cut it off before they start. Removing the angry feeling leads to more peace in the community. [ koshii's advice column | Ask koshii A Question ]

mylordwon answered Saturday October 4 2008, 9:07 pm: Bless you for caring about what God thinks. That is awesome! Here is what God says about cussing:
God says in Exodus 20:7 "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain." (ESV)
So, God's name as a cuss word is bad; very bad.
As far as other cuss words, God says in Matthew 15:18 "But the words that come out of your mouth come from your heart. And they are what make you unfit to worship God." (CEV)
Only God can see each person's heart, but the words that we speak give a good indication of whether we are pleasing God or not.
The fact that you are feeling conviction tells me you recognize that God is trying to get your attention. Since cussing is the concern you have and the bible says that what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, I'm guessing He wants to deal with you on a heart issue.

I don't think cussing is a bad thing, society has made a lot of things out to be bad. Fuck cencorship, and I love my dirty mouth. [ MADISAN's advice column | Ask MADISAN A Question ]
Katlyn answered Saturday October 4 2008, 3:13 am: cussing is only bad if said in a bad intention or infront of something that symbolizes god its k to cuss sometimes when your just joking around but if your cussing to hurt someone or to make yourself feel better its wrong and you should stop.
