Buying a "toy"

Question Posted Thursday August 28 2008, 4:52 pm

Okay so I'm 14 and a want a vibrator.
I picked out the one that I want and I have a bunch of those gift credit cards so i can buy it descretly. They ship it in a plain brown box with an unidentifiable label. What I'm worried about is if one of my parents find it, what do I say? I mean, I doubt my dad will find it because he's nearly never home, and my mom gets home later in the day, so I'll probably be getting the package. But seriously, WHAT IF SHE FINDS IT? what do i say? should i ask her about it beforehand, I mean I really really don't want to. But how would I even ask something about that? Don't tell me that I'm too young or anything, it's better than me finding the nearest manwhore eh?

These days vibrators can look like toys from a rubber ducky to a keychain and also look like lipstick or even a pen or a tiny bullet shaped device that can fit in a pocket.

They don't all look huge or even penis shaped. Most are designed to look like normal every day household items to ensure privacy. We can't give links etc but I'm sure you'll find from your own research this to be so and what's out there.

Choose a discrete one if you choose at all. The trouble is that you can't legally buy one unless 18 online at those adult toy sites. They'll verify your age and credit info most likely before shipping.

If it's mailed out (which isn't likely if they verify) in a plain box with a wrapper that doesn't identify the sender just tell them you bought cosmetics or something online. If they find it they likely won't know what it is if it doesn't look like one. And even if they did they probably would have a hard time bringing it up or asking you about it.

Believe me about one thing your parents know you are 14 and that it's pretty much universal for teens to be masturbating. They probably assume that you do. Stats wise 90% of males do and 75-80% females of all ages. Although it's embarrassing perhaps having an open and honest relationship or talk with your mother about masturbation and curiosity about adult toys will help you see that it's okay to be curious or engage in this activity.

Most parents would rather their kids masturbate than have sex I'm sure. As for hiding it a lot of them come with cases, locks etc to store them, attractive bags etc discreetly so nobody knows what they are if found. Like I said it's better to be open with your mother or an older female you trust than try to buy them online without them knowing.

well, just hide it somewhere really good, like a ripped a hole in this big teddy bear i keep in my room and i just put it in there, smart right? haha, but i'm sure you'll find a good place. also, if you're worried about someone besides you opening the package, take your gift card to the mall and go to spencer's and buy one there. it might be a little embarassing, but just think that you'll probably never see that person again, haha.
hope i helped!

If you're positive your parents won't get the package when it's delieverd, and have no way of it showing up on the computer or bills, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Keep it hidden in your handbag, and always keep it near you. You can also buy discrete looking ones. You can buy some that looks ilke pens, or lipstick. All sorts of cool things.

If, by chance your parents do find it, you have 2 choices:

1.) Tell them the truth. You have impulses and urges, and you aren't ready to act on them with a person yet. They should be understanding.

2. Laugh about it. Tell them one of your friends gave it to you as a joke, and for them to not be so serious all the time =] Funny, right?

Well, if you have a good friend just order it to her /his address. Then they can tell their parents that it's a package for you and you can go pick it up.
Then you can get rid of the big brown box and hide the toy in your handbag or whatever until you go home.

I've done the same thing. Except not for a sex toy, for piercing stuff :P
My mom would've slaughtered me alive if she'd accepted the delivery.

Good luck and be careful.

It's a really risky move. If your parents find out they could seriously freak out. They may jump to conclusions about other things. Just think about the consequences before you make your decision. Do you REALLY need one that badly? You can always just masturbate...
