The chances of that precum having a large amount of sperm in it varies as to whether he had recently ejaculated or came close to ejaculation. Remember, it only takes ONE sperm to fertilize your ONE egg.
Precum is pretty hard to distinguish from a normal woman's lubrication during sexual encounters because there isn't a whole lot of it. Men cannot feel precum actually exiting the penis so many of them release the pre-ejaculatory fluid without realizing it.
Thrusting even slightly and actually pulling the penis out (even to check) helps the fluid seep out of the penis so each time he pulled out, there are high chances that a nice amount of the fluid also came out of his penis. It's also highly likely that, while pulling out, the precum actually "wiped" off inside of you, probably on your vaginal walls.
I am uncertain as to what you meant by, "...we used 3 condoms..." but I wanted to note that you should only be using ONE condom at a time. This means, if you are putting two or three condoms on the penis all at once then you are increasing the chances of condom breakage. Having more than one condom on at a time is not beneficial to preventing pregnancy.
When you engage in sexual activities you need to protect yourself in as many ways as possible. You were very unsafe and should be very concerned over pregnancy risk.
I would guess that one of the safest ways to NOT get pregnant during sex would be to use a male condom (88% pregnancy prevention with typical usage) and the hormonal birth control pill (92% pregnancy prevention with typical usage). Male condoms help to be a barrier from infections and diseases so it lessens the risk of contracting harmful infections and disease; however, it is not completely effective on that either so you should always take caution on choosing a sex partner. Anyway, using both of these types of birth control together would be a wise choice.
You should definately pick up a home pregnancy test if your period is late. It is good to take the test after your period is a few days late to get an accurate read out. Some home pregnancy tests are better than others. According to a couple of studies done, First Response and Early Result Pregnancy Test are the two best kinds to purchase because they are slightly more sensitive than the others.
Always put on a condom before allowing a penis to come near your vagina.
I hope things turn out well. Hopefully you're worrying for nothing, but only time will truly tell. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask me :) [ Peeps's advice column | Ask Peeps A Question ]

Even though he kept checking, chances are he could have missed the first bit. If you're really worried about it, you could invest in a pregnancy test.
Just remember next time, use a condom if he's going to put his penis in you.
