okay so i like this guy and hes 18 and my parents dont approve. i see age as just a number. and hes not the type that just wants some. so how do i get my parents to compromise with me?

I'm going to be honest. At thirteen you should not be dating an eighteen year old. Whether he wants sex or not he is way more physically, emotionally, and mentally developed than you. Your parents aren't going to give in my dear. Yes, boys are immature at your age, but eventually you will find someone right for you.

You probably won't like the first answer to this question but here it goes: My way of looking at this situation is that it is illegal and if he doesn't just want you so he can "get some" then waiting to date wouldn't be a huge issue. You can just tell your parents y'all are just friends and talking. Not technically "dating"
My second answer: I would say do something with him and your family. Show your parents that he is a really nice guy and that he doesn't want you for the obvious reasons an 18 year old would want a 13 year old. No Offense. Show your parents you are responsible and mature enough to make smart decisions in your relationships.

this one. My first thought is whats wrong
with an 18 year old guy that isn't looking
for sex? Then my second thought is what 18
year old is going to wait until they are
21 to have sex.
Don't get me wrong, there are probably
a few still around. No parent in their
right mind is going to risk that though.

if you are an adult. Not when you are 13
and can't even drive yet. :)

Age is only a number, but in your particular situation, the age difference is illegal.
In the eyes of the law, you are a 13 year old child, he is an 18 year old man.

Age is just a number for adults. The difference is illegal, and now that I think about it, your parents won't give in, and it's probably best that you find someone your own age. I'm sure there are plenty of 18 year olds out there who aren't looking for sex, but it's pretty odd when an 18-year old is with a 13-year old. I think he is just looking for sex as much as he may tell you otherwise.
