I didn't start dating til the 10th grade, but wow am I ever glad I waited, even though I felt like there was something wrong with me. It saved me through all the drama that really didn't matter.
All the same, just keep being you. Don't try too hard, and if you like a guy, then hey, flirt.
Jehmehh answered Wednesday July 16 2008, 12:11 am: There's nothing wrong with you. And honey, you're only 13, there's no need to worry. I didn't get my first boyfriend until I was 18. If you don't let it bother you and don't think about it that much, then it won't be a problem. The right guy will come around eventually. Guys might not think you're ugly or anything like that, they might just see you as a "friend" over a girlfriend. Which sucks, but that will end. I'm sure you'll get a boyfriend soon enough, but I wouldn't worry too much about it now :]. [ Jehmehh's advice column | Ask Jehmehh A Question ]

if they kinda avoid you or don't enjoy you flirting, choose someone else.
