Have I started my period.........??
Okay, I'm 14 and i havn't started my period yet. But today when I went to the bathroom, I had like a "brown-ish" mark on my underwear....? Does that mean I have started my period?
O and please hurry I really need to know! I am planning to go to the beach and i need to know how to tell my mom also because we are not very close at all........so if you could please answer both of those questions it would help me ALOT!

Most likely yes. However, it could also be your hymen breaking (which doesn't just happen from sex, it could be from exercize or anything of that nature). But most likely it's the start of your period. If you see more later or it gets heavier, then it definitley is so tell your mom before you head out to the beach !
It also might not be bad at all. When I was 13 I had the same thing, and that was all I had for the entire day, then I didn't get it again until about a year later. On my birthday.

Your mom's been through it all, chances are she'll be thrilled to hear the news. Your period probably won't be that heavy considering it's your first one, so you may very well be able to do swimming without any protection at all.
If you are not sexually active, or masturbate with penetration frequently, you may find it difficult to insert a tampon. Don't worry about it, as soon as your blood flow has gotten higher, it will be easier to make its way through.

Do you feel a kind of "tightening" in your vagina? These are both signs of getting your period, along with headaches, backaches, bloating, moodyness, but not everyone gets these symptoms.
I would go to your mom and ask for a pad (its best to start out with pads instead of tampons) because you think you started your period, and ask her what you should do when you're at the beach.
Even though you're not close she's your mother and you should be able to talk to her about this specific subject, she goes through it as well. You're a teenage girl so she knows that it's going to happen sooner or later.

I also suggest you use Midol if your cramps are bad it's a mirical worker.

yes im pretty sure that you have started your period.thats how i pretty much found out that i have started my period.it all started with a brownish mark on my underwear. Well congrats!!
i recommend that you do tell ur mother regardless if you are close to her or not this is your time of need and you need her :)

Yes, thats how it begins. You can tell when you are starting because you will have cramps, maybe a little nausea, and sometimes when you first begin for the firt time you will have stuff in your underwear. This is considered normal if it happens a couple of days before or after your period.
