i have a boyfriend, and we've been going out for about two months.
i went down on him once towards the beginning and his entire crotch area had a rather unpleasant smell.
sort of like a doughy smell, or something that reminds you of food.
it wasn't pleasant.
i want to give him head again, and i would normally enjoy it, but not with the odor. it makes me sick.
can you think of anything that might cause it to smell like that?
he has normal healthy hygiene habits,
but i've never known a GUY to have a smell.
girls, yes, but not a guy.
thank you.
Many uncirumsized guys avoid pulling back the foreskin to clean if they don't do it often, because it can be very sensitive.
The odor can also be from sweat. If it is really bothering you, suggest a fun and sexy shower together. This was you can pleasure him, minus the smell, and it make also be a lot more fun. [ wisechick56's advice column | Ask wisechick56 A Question ]
mrpokie answered Tuesday July 15 2008, 5:36 am: That's from sweating. I get that smell ALOT after doing physical activities. Next time you want to give his peen some CPR, make sure he showered before you guys got together. [ mrpokie's advice column | Ask mrpokie A Question ]
StarryNightSkies answered Monday July 14 2008, 9:52 pm: it's most likely from sweat.
he should probably get a shower after sweating before you go down on him.
if you're afraid to suggest it to him cause you don't wanna hurt his feelings, how about you offer to take a shower with him, then go down on him after he's all cleaned up.
think carefully about this though, it may lead to other things so if you don't want to be put in that situation then i wouldn't do it.
Melody answered Monday July 14 2008, 4:39 pm: The crotch area, whether it be a guy or a girl, is not going to smell like roses. It's a constantly enclosed space that doesn't get any oxygen. Add sweaty hot summer days to that, and it's going to smell pretty gross. Same for girls.
The people below me said it may be a yeast infection. And it very well could be. Girls can give them to guys, and though the guys have no symptoms, it probably won't go away until they take antibiotics for it. If you've ever had sex while you have had a yeast infection, that could be the problem. If not, that doesn't neccessarily mean he cheated [though it could]. It may just be something else.
Worst case scenario? And STD. But if a doughy smell is the only problem he's having, I wouldn't accuse him of anything. Next time you have a check-up for you female parts ;) Mention that you think it would be a good idea to get checked for anything, just to be on the safe side.
I personally don't think you have anything to worry about. But if it really concerns you, talk to your OBGYN about it at your next visit. [ Melody's advice column | Ask Melody A Question ]

Jehmehh answered Sunday July 13 2008, 7:43 pm: Yikes! I would hesitate before doing that again. Doughy smells are usually a sign of yeast infection, but I'm not sure if guys are supposed to get that. But either way I'd steer clear of doing that. Maybe he just didn't clean well enough ? That's pretty bad though.
Just a question: is he circumsized? Because if not he could have what's known as smegma. It's a sort of gross cheese-like substance that has an odor that forms under the foreskin if not properly cleansed.
If hygiene isn't the issue, than maybe its caused by some sort of infection. How about the next time the situation arises, you ask him if he's ever been tested for STDs? Not saying it is one, but if you say that you'd feel more comfortable with him doing that then maybe he can find out if it is some sort of infection (maybe a UTI, but I'm not sure if any of them cause that) or let you know if he knows he has one. Because it's best that you know for many reasons. [ Jehmehh's advice column | Ask Jehmehh A Question ]
