Broadway-A Chorus Line

Question Posted Friday July 4 2008, 1:35 am

So, a Chorus Line is having Mario Lopez in it. Two Questions:
-Is he going to be in all of the shows until it closes on August 17th?
-What is the chance of him not being in one particular show and can I know this ahead of time?

You won't know ahead of time if there's an understudy until you get to the theatre. Understudies are often chosen to fill in for lead and supporting actors at the very last minute when it's determined a star can't go on. It's not publicized on online, the ticket sales line doesn't know anything except how to assign seats.

It's always printed on a sign in the theatre 1-2 hours prior on a sign stating "The role of Zach originally played by Mario Lopez will be performed by...."

He is contracted to do all shows until August 17th. 95% of time he and actors in lead roles will be on stage so I doubt you will miss him when you choose to go. Even if you did which is unavoidable as they won't refund seats the show is still amazing. I'm sure that you will see him perform as it takes a lot for them to sideline him for illness or other reason.
