Moving...

Question Posted Thursday June 26 2008, 1:55 pm

My best friend is moving away. I tell her everything and she's always the one I go to if I'm sad or angry. Basically, she's pretty much a sister to me. But now she's moving =(
I've moved hundreds of times before...but this is weird because now someone's moving away from me instead of the other way around. And it's just different ya know? I'm perfectly fine usually moving away because there's the possibility of a new beginning. But when she moves away, I'm still stuck here...without her.
Does anybody have any tips on how to cope when a friend moves away? I just don't know what to do.

I understand, it sucks when a good friend moves. How far away will they be? You can always call them or instant message them, and if they're not too far, maybe like a weekend every so often she can visit, or you can visit her? When my good friend moved, we bought the little computer cameras, so we could talk like on a video online all the time (sorry I don't know the word for it lol).

Of course, you won't be able so spend as much time with her, so keep in touch with other friends. Maybe the free time will give you a chance to make a few more really close friends?

Good luck, and hope that helped!

I know how you feel when a friend moves away. It really depends on how far away they are moving, Im guessing its far away so then just talk to them on the phone send messages on e-mail, you can write letters to. when a friend moves away its always good to staying touch don't ever let distance ruin a great friendship. Sometimes you may be able to visit each other too.

Hey, I went through the same thing my freshman year of highschool. My bestfriend and I had so much in common. And I could talk to her abour girl things like having your period, or boys, or a gazillion other things. She really was a sister to me. After she moved we have a notebook that we write in and send back and forth. I know its not the same thing as having the person right there in your face, but its still cool to call them, and when they come to visit, its soo much fun, b/c you have so much more to talk about. I promise things will get easier.
