I'd just always cry before the shot, & Get really nervous.
I got over that one time, by thinking about Christmas time when I was like
twelve, & They took my blood & I hardly noticed.
I've had ten piercings now, [took all out but two]
& I have two tattoos, Needles don't bother me at all anymore.

shortshortSHORT answered Saturday July 5 2008, 12:27 am: No, you don't have to get 8 shots. Definately less, but I can't say for sure the exact number. Just make sure that you turn your head and don't look at the needle before or while she puts it in because it will just further increase your fear. you should also remember that shots do not hurt as much as you think they do. the last time you probably had a shot was when you were much younger and your pain tolerance was much less than it is now. i'm sure that after you have these shots, your fear will lessen or even subside because i was deathly afraid of shots until i had one when i was 12 and it barely hurt at all. when it's going in, you'll feel a pinch if that and then it will be all over. try to think of something peaceful during it or like the person before me said, bring soothing music. also, you could ask your mom to come in with you and just to leave while the doctor looks at your privates. trust me, it will not be nearly as bad as your imagining. just take deep breaths and try to relax during and before. also, doctors know that people get nervous before going to the doctors and getting shots, so they take that into consideration when judging your blood pressure and heart rate. you'll be fine, don't worry even though i know that's really hard.

I used to be so scared of them, but i gues used to them after a while. have your mom come in till you get the shot "down there". good luck!
