Has anyone been in an interracial relationship? Did you encounter any heat from your friends or family? Did you live in an area where there was a majority of one race?
Er_Bear19 answered Monday June 2 2008, 4:01 pm: I personally have not, but my neighbor did. I live in the whitest county in America (history teacher told me this a couple years ago in school). So my neighbor started dating one of the only Africans in the school. I'm gonna say most people were either cool with it or just kept their mouth shut. There were only a few people who actually said something. My neighbor's parents ultimately caused their relationship to end though, because they were so against it. My opinion on the matter is, it shouldn't matter what race you or the other person is. As long as they make you happy, then that's all that matters. :] [ Er_Bear19's advice column | Ask Er_Bear19 A Question ]

The thing about most people is that they don't really know the person you're having a relationship with and tend to judge way too quickly. And yes, you will obviously encounter some type of heat from the people around you that care, because you are getting yourself into something new they find it not so appropriate, they like you staying in your comfort zone because there everything is the same old thing and dealable. No matter where you go, what you do... You'll always encounter heat!

No matter where you live, there will always be someone who looks at you cross-eyed. A family member, a friend, a stranger on the street. Why should that matter, though? If someone doesn't like it, that's their own too bad. Correct?
