I'm an 18 year-old male in Georgia. While I was 17 years old, I got a ticket for running a stop sign and a ticket for speeding, and apparently, those two tickets are enough to get my license suspended for six months. It is suspended from May 2008-October 2008.
My mom had to drop me from her insurance payments because the cost of my car insurance became so expensive since the suspension. Once my license is no longer suspended, I don't know how I'm going to afford car insurance. My mom said it's something like $200 a month or more.
What do I do? Are there any insurance companies that would work with my situation and offer me a low rate or something? :(
As long as this is on your driving record, you'll likely be paying higher rates. Once you re-insure yourself as a driver, as long as you make sure your insurance is kept up to date, that in itself will drop your rates a bit. Even though you've got a suspended license, insurance companies do reward for keeping up on your auto insurance.
