OK. My mom recently told me that sometimes she see's spirits. She's highly Christian and so am I. She told me that she's never told anyone but me, and she told me that she hated her girft and asked God to take it away from her. Now, every scince I was like 11 i've been VERY interested in the like unknown. So naturally when she told me this I got kinda interested, and I started asking her questions, but she gets upset when I ask her question. My mom is straight up psychic and alot of things lead me to believe that, not only can she see spirits, but she can sense things. Like, she can touch u and know that you're sad or upset even if you don't show it. And like at Mac Donald's, this woman who you could tell had something wrong with her, was mumbling to herself, and started laughing this weird laugh. The woman suddenly stopped laughing and stared at me. My mom goes "Kiara she's possessed, don't look at her". And i'm like, How do u know? And she didn't reply. But anyways! I just wanted to know if i'm gunna get her gift? And no, she's not crazy, I would have never known. She said she didn't get her gift till she was about 16, and i'm only 13.

when i was about 5, my brother and i slept on this matress on the floor because we didn't have a bed. well, one night he and i were about to go to sleep. but i kept feeling something under the bed beating on it, i was so scared. my brother must've felt it too because he got off the bed and went and layed in the doorway where the hall light was on. still, i kept feeling something banging from under me, i got so scared, so i went and layed next to my brother and fell asleep. i think it was a few hours later i woke up, and i turned to look at my brother, he was still a sleep, then i looked at my matress, and there was a green man laying on it, i got so scared, so i went back to sleep.
and there was another incident when i was 6, where i was staying in a hotel, again it was at night and my mom and brother were on another bed and my dad was at work, i was laying on the bed about to sleep when i felt a hand grab my shoulder, it scared the hell out of me.
when i tell this story to my friends, they laugh, but i know this was real and sometimes i still feel like theres something under my bed, so never sleep with the lights totally off and i'm 16.
your mom's gift sounds similar to that tv show ghost whisperer, i think she should try using her gift, because the bible says not to waste your gifts, there's a reason you have them to help show the love of God to others. if there is evil in her gift, then i say she should keep doing what she's doing.
i'm not really sure what happens to spirits after death, i think they dwell the earth until the ressurection, or the may go straight to their desinated place. [ barneyrocks's advice column | Ask barneyrocks A Question ]
darkside89 answered Wednesday May 28 2008, 4:21 pm: Wow!this is super interesting.Well i think you might just get your gift...but my advice is that keep this fact on the low. Dont tell anyone about this and dont think about it too much. I read somewhere that being too open about this can make negatieve vibrations prevent the gift to be yours. But i hope you get the gift!!

venom_97 answered Wednesday May 28 2008, 1:37 pm: Your mom is NOT Crazy. I am going to apologize for the fact that someone actually said this to you. Some people are actually gifted. These types of gifts are innate meaning you are born with it, there is no certain age that it just pops up on you. The reason an age is even associated with the gift is because this was the age it was recognized and/or acknowledged.
Send me an email and I will explain whatever it is that you wish to know. I will also share some very insightful information with you via email in reference to this type of gift. It goes beyond spiritual and psychological. People are very judgmental and critical when it comes to areas, topics or subjects that they lack knowledge or experience in. I will look forward to your email. [ venom_97's advice column | Ask venom_97 A Question ]
WittyUsernameHere answered Wednesday May 28 2008, 1:21 pm: Statistically speaking, theres a better than 99 percent chance that your mother is mentally unbalanced (meaning crazy) and yes, it is possible that traits like this can be passed genetically.
Now, at 13 what I just said might seem a little insulting. It wasnt meant to be, I'm serious.
Throughout history, Christians have used their faith to describe anything that they do not understand. Often times, christians would apply God fearing beliefs to things that had nothing to do with God or faith.
Case in point, Christians have held for years that people would be "possessed" or some such. In actuality, the evidence of "possession" was usually the outward signs of some kind of mental defficiency. Autism, downs syndrome, alzheimers, etc. These are examples of medical conditions that the human race was never able to diagnose until the last 50 years.
So religion made up their own explantions. Thats what your mom did at McDonalds. She has no clue whats wrong with the woman you met. But at 13 you are too young to automatically question something like that. Take what your mother says with a grain of salt, shes not as right about everything as you think, and as you grow older you're going to start figuring that out more and more.
I'm not discounting the existence of the supernatural. There are things in this world that cannot be fully explained by human science today. But nothing that you've said has given me the slightest inkling that your mother has any kind of gift. Being able to tell if something is wrong when a 13 year old can't is just experience at reading people.
I can do that too. I look at someone's face and the subtle tension in jaw mucsles, the way their eyes move, the way their expression changes when they believe no one is looking at them, are all great clues to someones mental state. Its not supernatural, its psychology. And its no surprise that at 13 you can't read people that well. You're just hitting the age where you start realizing that theres more going on with someone than what they obviously tell and show.
Your mother isnt gifted. More likely, shes too into Christianity to seek answers outside of her religion and she is unwilling to give up the feeling of being "Special" that her belief in her own "gift" gives her. [ WittyUsernameHere's advice column | Ask WittyUsernameHere A Question ]
AskKay23 answered Wednesday May 28 2008, 12:34 pm: I've done a lot of research on this stuff. When I was a kid, probably around 11, I would hear voices all the time. It was kind of like a couple of people in the early morning or late at night. It would wake me from my sleep, and I was petrified. If that wasn't enough, I would have the craziest dreams, and really felt like there was more to me then I ever knew.
I grew up as a Christian as well, and their beliefs on the paranormal and mediums[people who can speak to the dead], is highly questioned. I tried to push away any thoughts of an afterlife, or the fact that I might be a "sensitive" for a long time. But now that I'm 21, I get all sorts of feelings.
It turns out that my grandmother had them, too. Which yes, means they can be genetic.
But there's different kinds. Your mom sees things, I've never seen spirits. I've heard them, and felt some kind of unknown presence. I've known about horrible things happening before they happen to those who are close to me. For example, my best friend crashing her car, my boyfriend getting jumped, and the day my grandmother died.
It's strange, and people will think you're strange. But it sounds to me like you kind of want this kind, which is interesting. There's a very good chance you mind receive it, especially if you're welcoming it. But don't be disappointed if you don't, you'll still have a mom to look out for you. =)
