I'm a 16 year old girl and I'm completely lost right now. I used to be a straight A student just half a year ago. Now, I'm messed up. I can't concentrate. I eat all the time. I take long naps and procrastinate on homework. I'm moody, I feel suicidal, worthless. Pathetic. I feel like I'm one of those people who will never amount to anything. My parents don't give me attention anymore and they're giving up on me. I feel helpless. I have all advanced classes and find myself fading in ability to work and everything else. I feel like I can't do it. And just a couple of months ago, Ive been getting As and Bs. Now I'm slipping by the day. I don't do my work. Nothing. I'm lazy. Or I have A.D.D. I don't know. How can I at least try to get my life back on track before Ive messed it up really badly? I'm not failing or anything. But I know I could do better. But I just...can't. I mean..I got my first bf this year...but I don't think that could be the cause of it? It's like a midlife crisis..please help. :(

I know how this feels. I struggle with multiple mental and physical issues. I had the exact same problem and I was so helpless. I've been on several medications and have been hospitalized twice. I go to a theraputic day school now because I have been missing school so much and my once above 100%'s slipped down to the 50's range. I recommend seeing someone like a phycologist! It wouls be good. I have a feeling that you may have anxiety disorders along with some depression. I'm no doctor but I have been through it all!!! Go see someone and contact me here if you wanna talk, need more advice or just check up (in).
good luck

You are in control of your own destiny. I know you have heard this before, but you have control of what you eat, how you feel, and how well you do in school.
You have not done anything irreversible here. Just change your additude and modify the choices you make for the positive. A.D.D. is just a diagnosis for doctors to give you a fancy medication that will probably limit your creativity and activity. You are young and you have your whole life to look forward to. Most importantly your best years. You will look back one day and realize that your worries and concerns were due to lack of vision. Get your vision of your life in order. Have confidence that what ever life has dished you out, you can handle and overcome. It sounds like you are very bright. You are just confused. Remember, suicide is not an option. Get these thoughts out of your mind. They are the devils works.
Think about it this way. You could be in a much worse situation. You could have no food to eat, you could be living in a country that doesn't allow you to do what you want. This is common throughout the world. Help other people. Smile and make people feel needed. You know if you don't get this yourself that it doesn't make you feel good. This will return to you in many ways.
God loves you. Your parents are probably busy trying to figure out their own issues. Ask them to go to a movie or a walk. They might just take you up on it. I am a father of 4 children, and of course I was a child once. Take control of your situation and be proud that you did it. It will help you in your future endeavors.

Something little could turn into something so much bigger than what it is, and you wouldnt even realize it. If you think its a very serious matter, you could go to the doctor for it. Or even get a shrink. It may sound crazy, but shrinks do nothing but benefit you. Stuff you cant get out, a shrink could. If you want to try to start at home, first you could dedicate an hour more, of studying time, and doing your work. You could cut back on unhealthy foods. I read in a health magazine, that lots of junk food, or people who continually eat, it can cause them depression. So maybe cut out some of that. Talk to your parents. Let them know how you feel, tell them you feel as if they arent giving you the time of day. And work on from there. Get invovled in physical activities, or extra curricular clubs and stuff. It helps keep your mind off certain stff. But as i said before, if you think the situation is more to it, than what i just said, you can always see you doctorr.
