The other day I went into the family study, and my 9 year old brother was on the computer there, on Habbo hotel- chat room. And he's only 9.
I was thinking ''okkayy..?'' and then I saw that his nickname on there was something like ''babezboy''. Now even I was wondering ''what the f**k is happening to the world!?
Although I am 15, and I've done some stupid stuff, I come here on adivcenators, and see 13 year old girls asking whether it's weird that they still haven't had sex/been fingered/given blowjobs.
I guess most kids nowadays are influenced by the teens around them.
I mean stores that make clothes for kids are starting to make tops with low necklines, tight jeans and so on.
The kids think this is totally ok.
They go on websites where some 14 year old girl is saying how she had sex with her what 16/17 year old boyfriend.
Most parents are too relaxed with their children. The kids watch MTV all day, they see half naked girls dancing around...that's ok now because it was on tv.
Even though I don't wanna admit this, the technology generation IS affecting kids.
I mean my 9 year old brother has a phone, an iPod, he's gonna get a laptop(not a brand new one..but still)
I got my first phone when I was 12, and that was one of the most common phones in like 1995...and I got the phone in like the year 2000 Rember the brick shaped nokia that had classic snake on it? :D Yeah that one. I didn't even use it, I went out and played with my friends.

During out younger years we got to enjoy being a kid. We had the best cartoons, the best games. As years go on, the world is telling everyone that being young is overrated, so everyone is quick to grow up. Being called "immature" is now an insult, and kids take that into consideration. You may not know it, but your little sister can hear everything you talk about, so she might get some of her knowledge of these things from you. The television and radio are not very kid-friendly these days, so whatever they hear on there, they are going to remember and repeat sometime in the future. And of course, if their big sister says something about sex, then it must be alright to say.
Some parents just spoil their kids because they do not want to deal with them. So they just give them what they want and be done with it. Hollister and whatnot are not made for kids under the age of 13 in my opinion. I don't understand why they need to dress like that in 6th grade.
If only everything were like they were in the 90's, kids would be able to enjoy their childhood a lot more. [ kc's advice column | Ask kc A Question ]
infatuatedxxglamour answered Friday March 28 2008, 12:41 pm: Yeah, its definitely a new generation for them. I don't know why, most likely because they're exposed to so many ads and such promoting things that aren't suitable for kids of that age.
Personally, I get concerned when I see little kids wearing Hollister or abercrombie, even if its just a sweatshirt, because it shows that their mums are clueless. I know MY momma wouldn't let me into a store with a picture of a naked guy in front selling clothes that don't cover much skin at the grand old age of eight. How will they allow their kids to dress at ten? Thirteen?!
And the music... I'm not saying its bad to listen to, because I listen to some of it, but I mean, honestly, stick to Kidz Bop - even though that stuff is horrible, my God...
And I love how parents are subconsciously buying into this whole my-kid's-a-teenager thing by endorsing in iPods and cell phones for their first graders... iPods, whatever, if you got the money, go ahead and spend it, but why the hell do they need cell phones?! Maybe to set up dates with their boyfriends. hah.
Yes that was my rant for the day, thanks... I have a problem with this whole little kids acting older thing... I believe that I grew up in good time, not too fast, not too slow, and that these kids should follow suit. [ infatuatedxxglamour's advice column | Ask infatuatedxxglamour A Question ]
Artzy8P answered Friday March 28 2008, 12:37 pm: omg! at seven years old? Well I think you should be sitting down with your parents and explain the situation. That your little sister obviously doesn't seem to understand the maturity level she should be at and whats appropriet and what is not. She's only seven and probably just doesn't understand. Your parents may even know about all this. Either way somebody should be sitting down with your sister and explaing everything to her. Maybe bring her on a shopping trip and get her things to do that seven year olds like. Just to be making sure that she acts her own age. Get her toys, clothes and a rent a movie to watch with her (something like a disney movie).
