sleeping a lot

i'm 14 and a freshman in high school. this winter, i have been sleeping a ton like i come home from school at 2:30 and by 3 most days im sleeping most days until dinner and some days i sleep through dinner and i just eat after i wake up. last night i went to bed at about 11 and i slept till 9 this morning and now its noon and i could fall asleep right now. i dont like sleeping so much!!! im always grouchy cause when i wake up im kinda out of it and im not the nicest person

The same thing happened to me when I was your age, and I can remember my family called me lazy! I was not lazy..I was so very tired! Eventually I got really sick and it turned out that I had mono, probably had it for a long time, but because I was usually very healthy it took a while for the major symptoms to appear. Another time as an adult..I was also that tired, I could barely get out of my car and make it into the house after work. I went to the Dr and had a hemaglobin done and I was anemic. My best advice, from experience.. would be to go to the Dr and tell him how much you are sleeping. Perhaps he will do some tests. If everything is okay, then you can work on something such as getting into a good routine, but best to rule out health causes first.

same thing happened to me when i was that age. always sleepy, very pissed at everyone. most times i would come home from school and plop onto my bed with my shoes still on till dinner, then go right back to bed soon after, usually waking up late for school. cant say as how i figured it out, it went on for about a year then i was back to my chipper self. if you want to get better at staying awake i say invest in an alarm and start drinking coffee or tea.

its just those hormones dude, you'll get over it sooner or later, trust me.

The more you sleep in the afternoon, the longer you'll stay up at night. It'll get to be a never-ending cycle...

Make a plan.

On the weekends, plan on going to bed at 10pm.

Plan on waking up at 8am - you'll get 10 hours of sleep, which is about what the average teenager needs every day, although most only get 6-7 hours of sleep. :S

Keep at this cycle, and on school days, plan on sleeping for 10 hours, going to sleep at 8 or 9, waking up at 6 or 7.

It'll take awhile for your body to get used to it. But if you keep it up, you won't be as tired during the day.

Try drinking coffee in the morning to help wake yourself up - but don't drink any caffeinated beverages after 12 or 1pm because then it'll effect your sleep cycle...

Well maybe it'll change if you just go to sleep earlier and plan the day a little earlier, Yes i see what you are going through because the same thing happends to me too. I could sleep ALLLLLLLLLLL DAYYYYYYYYYYYY......

One time I went to bed round the same time but instead of nine i ended up waking up at 4:00 pm in the afternoon...

My mother was like are you pregnant???

Cus its funny cus most prgenant people do be really tired. Lls.
But i wasnt pregant, How? If i never had sex before... LOL.
well.. jus chill...
