MIP ok im 17, and i live in michigan. I've never got in trouble with the cops before.
i was at a party the other night and everyone was drinking. everyone was under 21, and the cops gave everyone an MIP (minor in possesion) because everyone had to do a breathalizer test.
i have a court date in about a month. my mom knows, but i was wondering, 1. what most likely is going to happen when i go to court. and 2. is there any way that i could possibly not tell my dad. he and i already dont have a very good relationship, he doesnt trust me for various reasons.
thanks

Mangy had good advice.Court cost and probation. As for you dad you have two:One who doesn't care and will tell you to tone it down and the one who does care and grounds you.You knew that you were to young to drink but you thought you could get away with it.Sorry honey but you got nabbed. You just have to face what's coming to you.If I were you,I would hope for dad number two. He's the one who loves you the most and wants you to grow up to be a responsible young woman. You may not think of it now but would you want to see your own kids in jail for drinking or worst, drugs? If you learn to listen to dad number two,I know that your going to remember this and grow up to be a great mother. ]

Reading it all is probably a good idea so you are informed of MIP laws in your state, but you want to take note of #3 if this is your first offense.
If this is your first offense, you will have to pay court costs and likely fines. You may have probation, but no jail time, and nothing on your record.
As for your dad, I don't honestly know, nor will I dare make a guess.
