Returning to college

Question Posted Saturday March 15 2008, 4:46 pm

I'm going to be a freshman in college next year and I've always been curious for what I do at the end of my freshman year. How will they know I want to return to that same school for my sophomore, junior, and senior year?

Are you automatically eligible to attend the school for the following 3 years (sophmore-senior) or is there some reapplying process you must go through? I know I won't have to worry about this for another year, but I'd rather know now. If it depends on the college then I'm going to ASU in Boone, NC.

I would prefer people who are my age or older or have friends/siblings and know for a fact what you're talking about (AKA people with experience when it comes to college and stuff).

Thanks in advance.

Yes, once you get accepted and complete your first year you can stay the next three years until you graduate. But if you're are failing out of school, they give you one semester to bring your grade up. Your overall GPA has to be a 2.0 which is passing.

**Even though you are accepted, every semester you have to REGISTER, which is a very simple process (it is not re-applying). Your school provides you with an online account (this is separate from your school email account) which shows you your schedule, grades, and billing for tuition. There should be a place in the Menu dealing with attendance. All you do is "Confirm Attendance" and have to pay like a $20 fee (at least that's how much it is at my school). This is so they know you are going and they make sure to bill you for tuition and enroll you in classes.

Don't worry about it, you'll be fine! And there are plenty of people you can reach out to for help in college (counselors, advisors, mentors, floor aides, financial aid office, and so on).

Once you get accepted, you can go there until you graduate unless you decide to switch schools. There will be a time at the end of each semester when you can apply for classes for the following semester. You don't need to reapply. They can kick you out if you're failing your classes or get expelled.
