If you try to make people like you by being someone that you aren't sure your going to make friends but there not the friends that you want. And she is right about smiling and saying thanks. I do it all the time but i say "thanks i take that as a complement". Good luck dont let them know it bothers you or they will keep on doing it. As for the girl who's making fun of you, she knows it bothers you. That's why she continues to do it.
Coming from someone who was once in your shoes, either ignore her as if she doesn't exist when she speaks to you, or laugh at her when she says something rude. You know, like you think it's funny too. I always found that to be the best technique, considering they don't realize you are laughing at their foolishness rather than with them.
Just don't let her know she gets under your skin. No, no. She feeds on that.

When ever they make fun of you but smile and say thank you. It gets the best of girls when you just show you dont care , try it and tell me how it goes .
