i have no scholorships commin to me . Want to answer more questions in the Work & School category? Maybe give some free advice about: Colleges & Universities? flamantrose answered Sunday March 9 2008, 4:26 am: START PLANNING!!! Work hard on everything, it will open up scholarship opportunities. Compare prices, locations, everything about schools. Join a site like fastwebs, they email you all sorts of scholarship opportunities (easy stuff, writing papers and the like. It's good to start putting away money, but student loans are the friendliest loans ever. Banks love to give them out, they want you to succeed, especially for nursing, it's a career that almost guarantees a well paying job direct after graduation (my sister is one )so don't worry too much about being stuck with debt. Rosie2000 answered Tuesday March 4 2008, 10:36 pm: im nto sure what your collunity college is.. but most colleges now provide nursing programs... fill out your FASFA!!!! you have to be 18 or out of high school to fill it out. i tried to look up vocational schools or skill centers in iowa. i coudltn find any. if you go to your office, career center, or a business teacher at your school i bet they could help you!!.. ALSO.. if you volunteer at an old folks home.. at least in my state they have to pay for any state certifcations or testing.. alot of places can give grants too.. so you know if you really wanna do it... you could try getting on peoples good side and then asking for some help. people are generally welcomed to helpign others. esscpeically in this feild. and dont worry you dotn need good grades to get into a nursing program. you will have prerequs.. and those will be allyour english and math and science and stuff. to get into a nursing program that is what they look at. so dont worry and dont give up! we need all the help in this feild we can get. orphans answered Tuesday March 4 2008, 9:04 pm: its okay, there are plans you can go on that will give you loans and help you out. Also, I know you said that you cant get a job right now, but when it is winter, summer, fall etc, go around and put flyers in mailboxes for yard works such as lawn mowing, leave raking, dog walking, dog scooper pooper :-), shoveling snow, cleaning the pool, babysitting, and anything else they could possibly need. Just work with a low budget on luxeries for a while, and save all of your change, trust me, it adds up! :-) [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
