Ok
I am always tiredd
And I eat more then I ever have
I am sad when I get home, but I am the same around all my friends
I cut, not all the time, but sometimes
I don't talk to anyone
I have some suicidal thoughts
I don't talk to anyone, like everr
My grades are slipping
I have NO self confidence and I feel like a burden to everyone
IS this depression?
I don't know and I don't want to tell anyone...uunless I know for sure or have a little better idea

it sounds like you are depressed.
i use to do that, but instead of turning to food, i would turn away from it.
but its basically all in the same region.
i honestly have no idea why i was depressed, or why you are.
it could be a range of things.
there could be something wrong with your brain that doesn't let it create enough happy emotions, thats what my therapist told me.
oh yeah, therapy could help you a great deal.
you might be one of those people that think "i'm not crazy, i shouldn't go to a therapist"
thats kind of how i was, but i'm glad i went.
it helped.
and i got on medicine, that i'm no longer on, and i don't go to therapy anymore, but it truly helped.
maybe you don't need therapy, but always remember it as an option.
it doesn't mean you're crazy, i just think of it as..
if someone is sick, they go get help.
and depression is a sickness that could effect your whole life.
try not to let it ruin your life, go tell someone and get help.
you'll be so much happier that you did.

good luck :D

Okay so this sounds almost exactly how I used to be lol.
You turn to food because its something that you can turn to to feel good even if its just for a little bit. When you are around your friends, you feel good about yourself cause you have fun and are comfortable with them. I bet you don't talk to anybody because its an unsafe territory, and your afraid of getting judged. The cutting things sounds like your trying to get someones attention, because when you cut, its not because you actually want to go through with killing yourself right?
What you have is technically depression, but its more of a self esteem issue. One thing you can do is ask each of your really good friends 3 things that they really like about you. After you do this, write it down on peices of paper in ur favorite colors, and tape it on the wall in a place where you will see it every day. Then think about how your friends see you, and that is something you would want to portray to others all the time right? Once you believe that you are as great as your friends say you are, you will start to act confidently towards other people and actually feel good about yourself. Also another thing you can do is find something that has always really interested you, research it or just get information on it and make it a hobby, do this hobby daily and it might make you happier because you will be excited about it.
You can go to the doctor if you want to, but anti-depressants never really solve things they just hinder it more and plus anti-depressants have been known to lead to increased suicidal thoughts. In order to get over this you have to gradually build up self esteem. The best doctor to go to would be a therapist he/she could help you find the underlying reasons why you feel this way.
The things I told you to try are just some of the things I tried to help myself out when I was in your position, it might not work for you but its worth a try. So if it doesn't work dont give up, there are plenty of other things you can try.
I really hope I helped
and if you would like to talk to me more about this just ask :D

I had the same problem and now I go to a doctor about it.. and yes it sounds like depression. They can give you medication to help all those problems.

Sounds like you are dealing with some major depression, and I applaud your strength and courage to reach out for help with your question. You need to tell someone, preferably your parents. Your “sometimes cutting” and suicidal thoughts is a deadly combination. Give yourself permission to be happy, talk to your parents or a school counselor for starters.
Stay safe.

It may be depression or another mental health issue. We're not doctors but I've dealt with my own mental health battle with bipolar so I feel I can say the following with confidence that it's accurate and can help you greatly.

You need to be HONEST with yourself and adults here about the cutting, the suicidal thinking, inability to socialize with others or talk to people and slipping grades. Show them the scars from cutting and talk about your lack of self confidence and sadness.

Then get your butt to an emergency room. Yes, this is an emergency as you may be headed towards crisis. They'll have a psychiatrist examine you and either put you on medication and treat you under their care or hold you for 72 hours to determine the right steps to take if they think you are in danger, of danger to yourself or others.

They will find you the help you need and the support so that you can live normally and keep the mental disturbance from destroying your life any further.

I can't say you are depressed or not as that's a diagnosis that only a psychiatrist can make. I do know that none of what you are experiencing is good and it's far from normal. You need to get help and take this ultra seriously or you could wind up in the hospital in crisis.

You have an opportunity to fix this now by reaching out to adults in your life and going to the local emergency room and getting a psychiatric assessment and diagnosis. The doctor will probably just provide medication and consult with you regularly but you may need more help than that.

I know it's hard to tell someone but you have to. You've got no choice as this is your HEALTH and you can't screw around with your health and safety as it's also a safety issue as this is and can become increasingly more dangerous especially if you have random thoughts or dark thoughts on top of death, dying and killing yourself. It isn't normal hon and you know that or you wouldn't have written to confirm it.

Tell your parents and head to the hospital. This is not something a family doctor is qualified to handle and it is a medical emergency. Believe me after being in the hospital twice for manic episodes I know when someone is in trouble and needs medical attention with a mental health problem.

You owe it to your family and yourself to come clean, be truthful and get help. You should also tell a guidance counselor, teacher, friends, friends parents or anyone else who can help you too.

hi, that seems like depression completely. i dont know your siuation in life right now, but something must be causing this , even a medicine, but i realy would like to help you, i have been there, i have been depressed and cutting, which cuttng, doesnt help anything you wake up with the problems anyway, you have to solve the problems, and confidence boost can help you, but it is depression, and if you dont try and help it, it could end, very badly, but you seem like you want to help yourself, so it would be easier to help you if i knew , your situation, nothing personal, just whats going on in your life, so that i could help you, i dont know you but it would suck for someone to want to / or end up taking thier life . i have been there, and its the worst feeling, and once your happy, i promise it will be worth it, so i hope that you dont have any more suicidal thoughts, because some advice is, you ever commiting sucicide will hurt so many people that love you, one of my best freinds passed away, and it hurts so bad, her freinds and her family, so i hope that you wouldnt do something like that, sorry this is so long, but im concerned.. so if you could / and want someone to talk to, please message me back.
