Before I answer this question I would like to say that the hardest things I would ever have to do in my life is to explain in words that others can understand, so I will only give examples.

To start of, I would like to start with the title of your question: "belief is a beautiful armour". Although belief can be a beatiful armour, and a truly strong and real one indeed, not all beliefs are a "beautiful armour", merely because everything we think is a belief. Your reason is itself an act of faith because you believe that it is actually reltated to the world you live in.

Secondly, I believe in one God. In this point, most poeople would like a reason to believe in a God, but all I can tell you are reasons why you should not believe there is no God and the simplest would be the following: Nothing cannot become into something, merely because it's not reasonable. The universe could not have popped up from nothing into something. Rather, I believe it far more reasonable to believe that, something or someone, if you do not wish to call him a God, that existed before time itself existed, made from nothing something in a way in which we cannot really understand. Also, human kind has always had a yearning or an intuition for God, even when most have never seen him; incredibly similarly to the newborn baby who has an intuition for food for when he needs it.

Thirdly, I do indeed believe that all should be grateful for what one has, it's just that I have never really based what I should be grateful for what I have in worldly manner, but by the one that fits my religion, the Roman Catholic Church. I thank God almighty every single time he gives me something, but that would never mean I would stop loving if he were to remove them. I am simply happy for him having made me so and that he has allowed me to become a participant of a truly happy, immortal life at the end of this one if I were only to follow his will for me in this life, which to begin with it is something I could never stop saying Thank you for.

Next, I do believe that every evil has a silver lining. But in reality, and I have to be honest, the exact systematization of all the good that comes from every single act of evil is not something that everyone is able to see; and I also fervently believe that, although goods can come out of evil, nothing good can happen for oneself by doing evil, or at least in a spiritual way.

Lastly, I would like to say why I do believe in the Roman Catholic Church, but in reality, I know there is not enough time or space to explain why I do believe in it. I believe that that is one reason why a certain phrase that goes similar to this: "There can be no explanation for the unbeliever, but for the believer, not explanations are necessary". But if I were to list, if only a couple of reasons, maybe not even necessarily in order, I would have to say that one of them is history. History teaches us that before what is called the coming of Christ, many religions were primarily polytheistic. However, it is obvious to say that these religions were basically made to supress some of the yearnings of soul; thus, there was the god of war, the war of envy, the war of power. All of these I would call "nature worship", and "nature worship" is basically the adoration of idols. Also, and this can be seen naturally in those ages, in societies which were polytheistic, the people themselves weren't exactly polytheistic because most prefered one side of their souls more satisfied than the other. Naturally, the god of war would not exactly be in good terms with their god of love and fertility and passion nor with the god of peace. As history goes on, there were other religions such as Buddhism which has many followers, but whose leader himself does not believe himself to be anything else that an enlightened one, similar to how an intelligent person may be enlightened. However, human being as he was, he was still subject to mistake. I do believe in his belief that for happiness, one must detach oneself from those things that bring oneself unhappiness and that virtues consist of an important part in the human soul, but I do not believe in the non-existence of a creator. Also, I cannot believe in his idea of reincarnation merely because there is no such thing as a perfect human being. If one were to deserve a heaven only once man is perfect, there would be no heaven for any. Even the most strongest of life-enclosured monks found impossible the complete detachment of sin or failure. Next, I believe in the Roman Catholic Church over other non-Catholic denominations for thousand of reasons. However, I do like to say among one of the lesser defenses, that when Martin Luther first broke the Church he did it only in the principles of Theological Truth. He often said there was only one truth and only one church to govern it. At the time, he simply didn't believe that that the Roman Catholic Church was the one that had the theological truth. However, nowadays, there are approximately 3,900 different non-Catholic Christian organizations, and when asked, most of them would tell you that it doesn't matter the one and true theological truth because everyone has about as much truth as anyone can get and they usually keep moving around that thought. This does not mean, however, that I am against anyone that is non-Catholic or anything similar to it, I am merely discriminating on a basis on thought and what I believe is error, and the true value of a person cannot be judged by what is missing links in reason, but rather the content of his heart.

Also, I believe in the Christian ideal because I look upon it as if it were common sense. It's bases around love which is basically like a glue that makes all stand together even throughout the differences and does not judge and envy.

I think... I said too much, I believe. I think I need to learn how to stop myself from bleeding words out when I type. Anyways, I hope I was able to be of some use to you, I truly hope you live on happily, and I apologize for the rather very long speech.

A lot of people feel this way on something as touchie as religion. What i believe in would be somehting a lil differnt, i believe that there is something out there far greater than we can imagine or comprehend no matter how many churches or religious authority figures there are. I beleieve that the laws of most religions were made by man and not god, it was god who wrote the ten commandments and therefore so shall it be, ya know? makes sense if you think about it. Also, yes it is good to treat poeple as if you wan tto be treated so then they'll remember you're kindness and treat mothers with taht same kindness so hopefully we'll all look inside ourseleves and help out one another. Although becuase of the greed and ignorance of today it might not happen as quickly as we all make it out to be. What i think that god would want us to do would be to just live our lives, sure we should question it's not blastfomy. Seriously, it's no crime to just enjoy the ouside and wonder around with eyes and a mind forever hungry for knowlege, to learn about other religion would give us a better understanding about other people so we too could be better people and not so closed minded as others. Couple eyars ago i too had a fall out with my religion but i figured out that just becuase popele screw it up for me doesn't mean i can't be who i am. So i ask myself.. "why should i care? they're not my maker, so i'll worship my own way" of course i didn't get a lot of favor but i learned that just becuase you are wjho you are doesn't mean it's wrong cuase the bible said it is. The bible was actualy made by a bunch of other short stories so people can be inspred to fallow through and be a good person like teh good semaratin. Unfortunitly most people read it wrong by thinking it's how ALL life shold be, but tehy're forgetting that we are still human and mistakes will be made, if you live for yourself while still being a good person, you're living for HIM and i think that's what he would want us to be. After all he individualy crafted us with our different talenst so they can be sued to help or entertain us am i right? if we just stuck our noses in the bible and worship then there would be no art, music, or what we have today. It's good to be greatful of what means themost to you cuase it could be taken away in the blink of an eye. Anyway i hope this helps and i hope i didn't offend you. Take care buddy and let me know if you want to chat more ^^

I love that you listen to John Mayer, too.

Anyway, I personally believe in using my abilities and talents to help other people and make the world a better place. Even if it's just living my life to give someone an example or encouragement. I'm not too crazy about religion, but I am a spiritual person. We all have gifts and talents that we should be thankful for, because we can use them to make the world a better place. There are a lot of famous people who use their fame to spread messages about things that they care about, as far as charities and whatnot. So I think that people need to look beyond religion, color, nationality, etc. and just see that we are all the same. We need to understand each other more. If everybody would just communicate and contribute, things would be better.

So keeping with the theme of belief... in the song, the lyrics talk about how belief can be both good and bad. It's like, the reason people go to war is because of their beliefs and they just need to try to stand in each other's shoes. Like:
Belief is a beautiful armor
But makes for the heaviest sword
Like punching underwater
You never can hit who you're trying for

To me, that means that yes, belief is good- but if you force your beliefs on somebody else (the heaviest sword), then that's asking for trouble. And with the punching underwater thing, you end up hurting EVERYBODY else, even if you don't mean to.

And:
We're never gonna win the world
We're never gonna stop the war
We're never gonna beat this
If belief is what we're fighting for

That sums it up too. If we just force our personal beliefs on other people without first listening to them, nothing is going to change. It's only going to create turmoil.

So personal belief is good, but don't assume that everybody's going to accept your belief. However, if your personal belief prompts you to make a difference in someone else's life, that is the greatest belief of all.

It's important to be grateful for everything you have for various reasons, a major one being that not everyone is as fortunate as you are. There are many people without a place to stay, out in the cold shivering to death, hoping that a miracle will come their way and they will find some place to stay, even if only for a night. Many people don't have food to eat or water to drink, they don't have family or friends or any type of support system.

Many children don't even grow up with toys to play with, or any parents who really care enough about them to take care of them. If the reasons I just listed aren't enough, then think about how hard your family or you have worked to get where you're at. You didn't get here by doing nothing, you worked for the things you have, whatever they may be, and knowing that you were willing and able to do those things and people close to you did the same to provide for you is a great thing, my friend.

Please, do not lose sight on the good things in life. I have been where you are, depressed and not sure where to turn or even if the turn is worth making. I have went through death after death in my family, including my dad when I was 11, I have went through various friendship and dating problems, etc. Yet I still consider myself very blessed, and you are blessed as well with the things and people you have.

Believe me, life is a beautiful thing - don't waste it. Look at the things you're good at and find a great dream, and then plan to make sure that dream will come true. Find things that you enjoy doing and make you happy, go out and do those things more often. Keep yourself surrounded by positive people, you don't need people who only talk, think and act negatively. Those people do not have your best interest at heart, and you do not need those kinds of people.

I hope that you will follow my advice here, and really listen and consider what I have to say. I believe it will help you in your life, and I wish you the best of luck!

a book that has really helped me is called The Secret. i read it every night.
it basically says that you deserve everything good in the world, and that everything IS good. and if you look hard enought at somthing, it BECOMES good. it says if you are in a tough situation, think of 30 good things that came out of it/good things about it. that applies to people too.
then it says when you go to sleep, go over your entire day. and if there is any parts that you dont like, change them in your mind. repeat them until you believe the good thing happened. INBOX me if you ever want to talk. im here.

Sima answered Sunday February 24 2008, 3:02 pm:
You know, all of my life I admit that I've taken things for granted. You know the old saying 'you don't know what you've got til it's gone'. I think that the saying kind of applies to my situation right now. My grandpa suffers from lung cancer and has been very close to passing. I admit that I should take just even 5 minutes to call him and ask him how he's doing. I was very spoiled when I was young, but who wasn't? I'm slowly starting to realize that the things that I've received came with strings attached. It's a bit hard to explain, but it's an interesting feeling. I'm a strong believer in everything happening for a reason and basing past experiences when making choices. It's just the way that it's been at our house.

I know a lot of close-minded, biased people. It's very unusual to come across a person who's open and won't judge you. I know how it feels when you don't have someone there to listen to you, and I think that goes for a lot of people.

Anyways, back to the grateful subject, yes, I am extremely grateful to have a wonderful [and big] family to support me. I can't express how much they've put me through, but how they've helped me out of some tough situations. The same goes for my friends. My friends are more of the open minded type, and it's great to have that support group behind you. I thank God every day that my family is healthy. Just the other day, I was at Pizza Hut with a few friends, and a couple and their 2 kids came in. One of their kids had Down Syndrome, and was disabled. I was on the verge of crying, and I really didn't know why at first. I now realize that it was because I'm glad that the kids in my family weren't suffering of anything such as. That might sound a little conceited, and believe me, sometimes we are stuck with those situations where we need to fight hard and work to get out of them. I hold very strong morals, and I have a lot of respect for my elders, which is a bit unusual for some teens my age. I'm the way that I am from, guess what, my past experiences. My experiences are what shaped me to be the person that I am today.

Message me if you need anything else. I'd be happy to help.
