asking my mom for birth control. this is long just help plea
Question Posted Monday February 11 2008, 8:29 pm
Okay, sooo here I go. sorry if this is long =/
me and my boyfriend just recently started having sex, it was both of our first times by the way.
Yes, we use a condom. EVERY TIME. I'd refuse to and he says hes not that stupid anyway especially since his dad got some girl at 17 pregnant with no condom like that. (Hes 17 almost 18 in july and im 15 almost 16 in september)but anyway when i get my period, my cramps are horrible, my period is for about 8 to 9 days and sorry for the over share but i bleed really heavy. yes i am a heavier girl and its normal to bleed heavy when your a heavier girl (i'm 5'2 or 5'3 and about 183 lbs. yes i know i'm overweight and i need to find out a way to get rid of that too but i have a size F bra if that helps)
but its really annoying to feel like even if i just changed my pad i feel that im going to bleed through my pants.
to get to the point, i want to ask my mom if i can get birth control not only because there is always that TINY chance the condom can break but because i know that birth control will make it less days, lighter and less cramps also. i know A LOT of girls that are on birth control at my age because of their period but the problem is i dont know how to ASK my mom about it. It'd be awesome if you could give me a few ways to ask without her being EXTREMELY overwhelmed please? thanks in advance!

the worst thing she can do is say no right? its not like you're going to get in trouble or anything, you're just asking. [ karlyndarlin05's advice column | Ask karlyndarlin05 A Question ]

Tell her you want to see a doctor about it and that you heard birthcontrol pills can in fact make things better. Leave it to her and mention nothing about sexual activity unless she does.
