So there is this guy. He is really nice and funny and he is in a lot of my classes. He is in plays, musicals and he is really good at writing poetry. I always thought he was gay. He acts like a little girl too so I thought he must be gay. I am not trying to be mean I am just wondering. Because he got his ear pierced in the left ear and that is the one that means you are straight. What do you think about this? I don't want to ask him because that would be rude. He also made a joke about a gay person being gay. I was like what? My friends are not to sure of it either and one of them likes him and she didn't know if he was gay or not. Do you think he is?

But just because hes in musicals, plays and he writes poetry doesnt mean he is gay... he could just be a really sesnseitive guy, and he might act gay but even that doesnt mean that hes gay. but he could be and the only way your gunna find out is if someone asks him. hope i helped xxx [ sally91's advice column | Ask sally91 A Question ]
uisforukelele answered Monday February 11 2008, 11:58 pm: elaborating a little on jack's answer... i have a lot of guy friends who are in plays/musicals and are very artistic in that way, and they're not gay. speculate all you want, but it would be a mistake to ask him if he is gay- because if he's not comfortable with people knowing his sexuality, no matter what it is, that could offend him. honestly, from what you've said, i don't think he's gay- he's just different. he may not be completely comfortable with himself. if you really want to find out, have your friend who likes him drop mad hints... if he's straight, he will most likely be okay with it, but if he's gay, it would be weird for him. sorry i couldn't give you a better answer, but i think only time will tell. masterclinic answered Monday February 11 2008, 10:50 pm: If he acts like a little girl im pretty sure he is gay. Don't get acting gay mixed up with the way he walks. Some guys are just like that if he talks like a girl and chooses his words differently more girlie like then he can be gay. Another thing is that if he has alot of friends that are girls and pretty much no guy friends then he is gay. Hope i helped good luck [ masterclinic's advice column | Ask masterclinic A Question ]

Okay, take me for instance. I'm in my school's plays/musicals. I also am pretty good at writing poetry. I don't have my ear pierced.. but that isn't the point. My point is that just because you're a guy that does the plays/musicals, it doesn't mean you're gay, because I'm not. I'm living proof that that statement isn't even slightly true.
I'm not trying to yell at you- I'm just trying to have you know that you shouldn't be so quick to judge someone like that. How would you feel if someone thought you were a lesbian because you played football and liked to hang out with all the guys?
Stereotypes and labels are lame. Don't follow the awful bandwagon of those two things- it only leads to hurt feelings and stupid assumptions.
And to the person above me- I can't believe the assumptions you're making. Wow. I'm shocked. As my Chemistry teacher would say- I hope you fall in a hole. And that isn't a threat ;]
