While leaving school today, As I was pulling out of my parking spot, I hit another kids car. I pulled into the next available parking space, and got out of my car to go talk to the guy whose car I hit. Well he hadn't been in his car when I hit it, but he was walking toward it.. and he gave me a dirty look. Well he got into his car and left before I could even talk to him! I brought my car into the dealership, and they told me my damage was so little that I didn't even have to report it. There was just a little bit of paint chipped off. I know the kids first name whose car I hit... but I don't really know him. I don't know what to do ... He just left! The car dealership people said to just leave it be.. he's the one that left.. it's his fault for leaving. I still feel I should do something about it... Anyone know what I should have done? thanks ... Calissa T.

Call your local police department, tell them exactly what happened and how the guy just drove off. Also too tell someone with authority at your school. Remember, this is about protecting yourself. You did the right thing. I personally think your car dealership is nuts! If you've got damage then fix it. If you plan on selling the car in the future that chip could effect the price drastically. I know, I use to work at a body shop. Go somewhere else if you have to. Although, if you have insurance and you report it your rates may climb. If the guy left and you can deal with the damage then just cover your butt and let it go. Once had an idiot run a stop sign and clobber me. I made a report even though he left the scene.
