maybe not right now if you have a tight budget, but they are really cool. i have a few friends that have them. if you already have a really nice ipod, it would be kind of pointless though. a cool thing is that the internet works very well on them, and the phone service seems to be pretty good. i don't think i'll ever buy one because i don't think it would be that useful to me personally, but if you need to check your email or listen to music when you don't have access to a computer then it's swell.

i've heard that if you already have an ipod, it's not worth it, because the main draw is both in one. and i heard that it takes a while to get used to texting on.
i'd just wait until the prices on it go down, OR until they have a new generation of them (since they always make new versions of all their stuff).

I think it's worth it. The only bad thing about it is that you can't send a text message to more then one person at a time, so like if you wanted to send Merry Christmas to everyone in your contact list you can't, you have to send the message individually. That's the only thing I don't like about it. Other then that it's totally worth it. :D

Yes. With installer.app and the sdk coming out in february, you can install basically anything on the iphone.

No. The iPhone looks pretty, but it has less features than many other phones. It isn't worth the money.

I would wait until the prices go down. Chances are, they will. Verizon already made a similar phone [Voyager], and it even comes with a full keyboard. They are always going to come up with something better, so think twice before you go out and spend $400-$700 [for a phone].
