Does anyone know of a program that works like Winzip (to open zipped files), that is downloadable and free? Thank you.

7-zip is completely free. There isn't even a paid version available:

It also opens more archive formats than either WinZip or WinRAR.

If you don't like the simplistic interface of 7-zip, you might like peazip better:

Peazip is built on 7-zip, but has a completely different user interface. It's easier for inexperienced computer users.

winrar is the best one

its a trial version, but once it runs out it still works, it will just ask you to buy it every time you use it.

Windows and Mac can both open zipped files on their own but you can search google for "freeware unzipper".
