That string that could possibly be in your vagina can't just fall out, and the likelihood of it being taken out with the other tampon is slim. It could be stuck up there, and honestly, I wouldn't take chances. The risk is that you could get TSS (toxic shock syndrome, a fatal illness) or some sort of nasty infection. Go to the doctor asap. There is nothing to be embarrassed about, many girls use tampons, the doctor has seen many vaginas; there is absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about.

The next morning, I went to the bathroom and took care of business again, to find I had two in me. I freaked out totally. Nothing went wrong and I am fine. About the string thing, it could be possible that the string was wrapped up in one of the tampons and just didn't notice it, or could have been a defective tampon to begin with. I wouldn't worry to much about it. However, if you start to feel really weird, like being sickwise, I would go to the doctor for a check up. Good Luck!! Put your fingers up there and see if you can reach it and get it out. If you cant you'll have to go to the hospital so they can pull it out with forceps. If you just leave it in there it will rot.
