New style

Question Posted Wednesday November 7 2007, 9:53 am

Well my parents hate my style(it's just jeans or gray trousers with band shirts and so on(very dark colours)
They want me to change my style of clothes..and I am almost ok with that...

But I'm looking for a style that is like more feminine but also has an edge to it..like rockish/metalish style.(metal as in metal music :P)

So yeah, pictures would be great, but anything is appriciated.
Like shoes( I wear vans and converse) shirts, jackets, trousers, skirts(I'm not really a skirt fan, but i might change :D), accesories.

Thanks :)

I like the way you want to try new things!
I think you should be more creative and colourful. Don't just stick to the same dark, boring, predictable colours you normally wear. There are tonnes of shirts, tank tops, vests, tees that are feminine - just look for more fitted ones than loose/baggy band tshirts.
Jazz up your outfits with belts, badges, wear cool scarves, necklaces etc.
The shoes you wear now will go with jeans, skirts etc, but if you want different ones, I suggest flats - you can wear them with anything.
If you aren't comfortable with wearing just skirts, team them up with leggings, tights or footless tights - they come in so many styles (different colours/prints)
You can also customize your things to add to the rock/metal style you want to keep.
Have a look at some of these pics to get ideas:

I've seen a lot of new converse where they look frayed and really, really cute! Especially in softer colors like light brown and faded pink.
I also think that black and white (or pink)striped clothing (not like the jail thing, but y'know)looks very fitting.

For skirts, there are adorable ones with netting or lace that can give that edge you want. As far as jewelry goes, I wear a large variety from glittering chokers to skulls with bows and hearts.

If there's a Kohls by you, I'd recommend it! I find that they're cheap and have wonderful clothes. JC Penny usually has a lot of sales going on, too, if there's one near you. I've gotten a lot of cute shirts from both of those stores, from grey to bright red.

Hope I helped! =D
