stressed out

Question Posted Tuesday November 6 2007, 1:46 pm

I have always been one to over think things, but lately, it's been ten times worse. Im in a new school and things aren't exactly going great. I dread waking up, walking to the bus stop, and It even worries me about getting on the bus. It's like a feeling of panic. When I get to school it's okay, but some situations make me feel sick. It's not so bad, but when I get home, worry overwhelms me. I involuntarily replay the events of the day in my head- going over embarrasing moments or bad parts. I build up so much unessacary worry for the next day. My stomach hurts, my heart pounds, sometimes it's hard to catch my breath. Sometimes I just break down. I know this is not normal, I should not worry so much, but I just cannot help it. I'm trapped in my own emotions. What's wrong with me? How can I stop this? I just can't handle it anymore.

I don't really know if I can help you but I just thought I'd let you know that I'm going through a similar situation. I hate my school so much and when I get home that's all I can do it worry about it.

I try many different things to take my mind off it though. Maybe you could try some of these things. I get on the computer and play video games. I go outside and just play. I listen to music and dance around my room like a crazy person. Watching TV sometimes helps.

And since you said you're in a new school why not contact some of your old friends from your old school? Let them know how you're feeling. Maybe they could help.

When you're in school and you start to feel sick just take a deep breath and try not to panic about what other kids are thinking of you. Have confidence in yourself and know that everything will be fine!

Let me just say I'm going through the same stress as you. My mom transfered me out of my highschool where I actually had friends and no problems or drama and put me in a new highschool where I was forced to make new friends and start new. I stress about school everyday I wake up in the morning and everyday just before I go to sleep. It sucks waking up stressing about going to school I hate it. I take a school bus also and I have small panic attacks about getting on it and even bigger ones when I get off of it. I constantly worry about what people might be saying about me everytime I talk to them or walk by them. I've been backstabbed more than once and I'm tramatized by it all. And to just think this all started when I moved from my old highschool.......listen I know your probably thinking "wth?? This isn't advice" but I just wanted to let you know that I know exactly how you feel and that your not the only one who is stressing about this school. If you ever need to talk to someone leave one in my inbox or add me on msn x_tu_y_yo@hotmail.com

Gah, I`m do that alot too & I hate it.
& with my wonderful coordination (hah), ooh, I have probably ten times more embarrasing moments than you do.

I don`t why I stress over so much either. If it`s something that`s not INCREDIBLY ridiculous to feel embarrased about, then I just tell my friends or something & once I`ve gotten it off my chest, I feel better. If it`s something that pretty dumb of me to be stressing over, I just keep it to myself & write it down in a journal.

Try keeping a journal & just writing down stuff. Trust me on this, it helps ALOT! You could try going to a spa & getting a facial, massage, etc. That`s probably one of the best ways to relieve stress. Or you could simply pick a quiet room, lay down, & meditate for at least thirty minutes a day. Or just pick up a good book or watch tv -- it always takes your mind off of things.

Also try meditating, breathing exercises, yoga, and some massages.
