Question Posted Saturday October 27 2007, 11:51 am
me and my boyfriend were hanging out with some othr guys at one of their houses and in this guy's bedroom was a cartoon poster of a girl with big boobs. Me and my BF and some guys were in their and my BF goes "why cant you have boobs like that?" pointing to the poster. My boobs really arent that big, and im so insecure about it. I feel like im not good enough, like he wants more than i can give. how can i like, satisfy him, you know? This is seriously making me really upset :(
The proper response to that comment is "Oh? You'd rather I be a figment of your imagination rather then your real, living and breathing, girlfriend?"
You are who you are hun. You can't take those sort of comments seriously. If your boyfriend can't stop making them. Dump him. If he really wants a pin up girl. Dump him.
If he just meant it as a silly, tasteless joke, laugh it off, or better yet, stare at him blankly until he gets the idea that it is plainly not funny. Guys will say very stupid things in order to empress other guys. If yours does that, call him on it.

You should know, that boys have fantacies having a pin-up girl. Big boobs, big butt, the whole shabang. They need to know that in reality, not all girls look like that, and the chances of them getting someone like that are slim. Boys are shallow. You need to let him know that that comment hurt your feelings and you really didn't apperitiate it. But just because he made a remark like that about your body, doesn't mean you should be insecure.
Girls never seem to be comfortable with their bodies, wheather their boobs are too big/small, they are too fat/skinny, etc. Big boobs and a big butt are what most girls strive for, because that is what they think guys want, not because they want it. You need to except what you have, and be like, "I may not look like that, but I don't need to to be pretty." You don't need to do anything to satisfy him except be yourself. Don't change anything for a boy, and if he doesn't apperitiate that, then he's not worth your time. [ kc's advice column | Ask kc A Question ]

The best thing to remember in situations like this is all those models and actresses etc are completely fake and air brushed and have professionals to do their hair/make up etc. So who wouldn't look good with all that!? It's ridiculous.
(Take a look at this: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
Go to portfolio and then click on a person. Hover your mouse over the picture for a before shot, then see what they look like after.) So he shouldn't compare you to real people, either.
Everyone has things they're insecure about and shouldn't be made to feel worse. I'm sure he's not perfect, but you don't say things to him like that.
I think you need to have a talk with him. Tell him it upset you. He probably didn't mean to hurt your feelings like that and could have just been showing off.
Don't let it get to you. Everyone's beautiful in their own way. If he carries on being like this and constantly puts you down, reconsider being with him. Boyfriends are supposed to make you feel good - not the opposite. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]

You should NOT have to go out of your way to satisfy him just because you're not some double D sex cartoon, and if he makes any more little remarks like that, you should really think about things with him and maybe talk to him about it if you're comfortable enough. Hope I helped, Good Luck! [ sportzchick143's advice column | Ask sportzchick143 A Question ]
