books, please!!

Question Posted Saturday October 20 2007, 3:02 am

ok well here's the thing: i like reading, but only when i'm really interested in the book (big surprise, right?), but when i DO get interested in a book, i can't get enough. i need more (i tend to obssess about things). anyway, my latest obssession has been the "Mordern Faerie Tale" series by Holly Black (Tithe, Valiant, Ironside), but i'm almost done, so i'm wondering if anyone knows any books similar to those, or basically any really good, gripping, rather-turn-the-page-than-breathe fantasy novels. if it helps, i'm also way into harry potter (yea, i know, i sound like an 11-year-old nerd, but whatev), so if you could suggest any books for my taste, i'd really appreciate it, since i really do like reading (not to mention i HAVe to do a lot of it), but most books bore me. thanks in advance=]

Go to Amazon.com and look up some books that you've enjoyed. Scroll down a bit and you'll see a thing that says "Customers who bought this item also bought..." That will show you some books that are similar to the ones you like, and you can give some of them a try. Oh, and don't worry about sounding like an 11-year-old nerd. I'm sure I'm waaayyyy older than you and I'm a total Potter-Head! But I'm not a nerd... at least, I don't think so! Haha!

Neil Gaiman writes really, really good books that are that kind of genre.

My favorites are American Gods, Anansi Boys, and Good Omens. He's also written Neverwhere, Stardust, Smoke and Mirrors, and the Sandman graphic novels.

I know it's cliched, but you might also try the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyers. (The first half of the first book isn't too special, but once you get past it they're really good books.)
