I'm getting a pitbull, and i want to make her tough. Deffently not for fighting reasons, for protection. I was wondering how i could make her tough and muscular like i've seen some pitbulls. thanks
adverb answered Friday October 19 2007, 5:43 pm: put her through training. but since it's a she, don't push it too hard. or, just play with her..games like tug of war or run alot with her. thats always a good start. [ adverb's advice column | Ask adverb A Question ]

If there are others in your household that you also want to dog to protect, make sure they also feed and care for the dog, giving it plenty of affection.
As fas as training it to be a "tough" dog, that's something that is best left to experts. The reason is that you want to make absolutely sure that you maintain control over the dog, that it knows to give clear signals when it perceives a threat, and that it knows what a threat actually is. Pit bull attacks are very much in the public consciousness right now, and the dogs do not enjoy a good reputation. If there is ever a legal problem concerning your dog - that is, if it attacks someone and they sue - you can probably count on losing the case. Training your dog properly can help to ensure that this doesn't happen. [ Xenolan's advice column | Ask Xenolan A Question ]
Goddess767 answered Friday October 19 2007, 3:17 pm: feed her correctly not to much and definetly not to little dogs should be feed 2-3 times a day and give plenty of water give her lots of love and bath regularly this is to build up loyalty to you as to make her tough give her exercerseze take her for walks and wrestle and play with her you could even take her threw dog training classes and you have to work with her and teach her commands sit, stay, lay down, speak and so on. you can teach them to track by laying treats in the grass and having her find them with you and protection comes naturaly but if not for her id go threw dog classes [ Goddess767's advice column | Ask Goddess767 A Question ]
