I don't mean to get graphic... but I've been on the pill for about three months now.. a little more... i've still got two weeks before my next period but I have some symptoms of a pregnant woman. My nipples are extremely sore and sensitive.. it will bother me so much that I can't sometimes wear a shirt to bed without a bra. This doesn't occur this badly before my period anyways. And I'm not so much tired, I'm exausted. I haven't noticed any nausea. Should I wait to take a pregnancy test? Could I be pregnant?
Additional info, added Friday October 19 2007, 2:54 am: By the way... we had sex the day after my period and he went in me... and I was on antibiotics for strep throat.. and I kinda was slacking on taking my pill by a couple hours about 3 times. But I was on mu white pills which are considered the sugar pills. Do they provide any form of protection? I felt like I was pregnant because of that "sixth sense" but now I don't feel like it probably because I don't want to be. . There are hormonal changes that will occur when taking them and you mentioned some of the same things I had noticed in my first couple of weeks on the pill.
Cherry_Blow_Pop answered Thursday October 25 2007, 2:32 pm: Here is the thing, the pill tricks your body into making it think that it is pregnant so that you don't ovulate. If you don't ovulate (because you are on the pill) you can not get pregnant. This only works if you take the pill at the SAME TIME every day. Now, you said you slacked on your pills a few times, but since it was only the sugar pill ,that doesn't matter. The sugar pill is just to keep you in the habit of taking the pill every day. But, if you slack for more than about 10-15 minutes from the time you usually do, when you are on the colored pills, then the pill is not effective (and you will have to wait another month for it to be as effective), and you can get pregnant. And no, the sugar pills do not give you any protection, because if they were to work the same as the colored (called 'active') pills, you would not get a period during that time.
So, the symptoms are most likely from the pill's hormones that are making your body thinking you are pregnant. You have only been the pill a short amount of time, and your body needs to get used to the hormones. But, if your "sixth sense" is very strong, I suggest taking a pregnancy test just in case.

If you think you are pregnant i strongly urge you to rather A.) Go to the Drs or B.) Take a pregnancy test. It is really important to know.

Taking the pills a few hours late doesn't matter. However, since you were on antibiotics, the effectiveness may have been lowered. They don't make the birth control completely useless, but they do lower it's potency.
I've been in this situation before and it's scary. Did you use any kind of back up method, like a condom?
Anyway, all you can do is wait and see if you get your period. Since the wait may be very stressful, you may want to just go out and get a home pregnancy test. Waiting won't change the results, so you might as well know for sure.
