I am hanging out with my friends brother next weekend, He is a 19 year old and i am only 16. Should i tell him im 17, i really want him to like me! Maybe he will like me more if there is less of an age difference?
Buttacup answered Saturday October 13 2007, 11:45 pm: Don't say you're 17, because it'll be SO awkward when he finds out you're not. And believe me, he'll probably find out.
Good luck, and don't rely on age, rely on charm! [ Buttacup's advice column | Ask Buttacup A Question ]
normajeanbabe answered Saturday October 13 2007, 10:37 pm: NO!! Do not lie about your age.
haha I've done that before and it has a way of catching up to you.
Especially if it’s your friend’s brother.
Plus saying you’re one year older won’t make that much of a difference, so there is no point in lying about it.
Just be yourself and I’m sure you guys will have a great time =]
yourrtrustyhelpline answered Saturday October 13 2007, 8:17 pm: NO. relationships are based on trust. it's not good to start a friendship that you would like to become a relationship with a lie. especially cos this guy is your brother's friend. because of that, most likely, he'll find out. just show him your true self. if he doesn't like you for who you are, he's not worth it. S_C answered Saturday October 13 2007, 6:54 pm: Of course you shouldn't lie about your age!
There are no positive consequences to lying. For every lie you tell you have to tell at least two more to cover it up... What if he wants to go see a rated R movie together? You're not old enough to buy a ticket and he's not old enough to buy more than one... There's a problem already..
It just isn't worth it. He shouldn't care about your age when hanging out with you. One of my best friends is 21 and I'm only 16 (although a senior in high school and I'll be 17 in less than a month...)
Age is just a number and will remain only that. All it proves is how long you've been alive, nothing more. He should like you for you, not for any other reason.
Lying is immature, irresponsible, and not liked by anyone. Don't do it, it's not worth it. One year wouldn't make a difference anyway. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
thelaura answered Saturday October 13 2007, 6:54 pm: In short:
Don't lie. It'll only cause problems in the future. Lying about 1 year is hardly going to make a difference anyway.
It's not all about age you know. It's how you act :)
Be yourself and you'll be fine! [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]
