This guy asked me out and my best friend says he likes me as more than a friend, but I mean, I haven't known him for long at all. Did he ask me out just so he could have a gf? Or does he actually love me? I can't really tell... when we're together he holds my hand and he puts his arm around me, but, it just doesn't seem like he's letting himself go. I don't really like him as more than a friend right now, I think mostly just cuz I don't know him. But I wonder if he only wants me to go out with him to impress his friends, I mean, we never do anything alone, it's always around our friends.

If you're bothered about always being with the rest of your friends, why don't you suggest doing something together - that is if you become interested in him more than a friend. He probably hasn't suggested it already because it might make you feel a little strange, because you know he likes you.
Get to know him and if you feel anything, give it a try. If not, it's not your fault you don't like him in that way.
Good luck anyway. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]

But just because he hasn't got the love bug yet doesn't mean he doesn't like you. He may really want to be with you. If you think that maybe there could be a future, go for it. If you aren't really into him in that way- Then don't. [ Melody's advice column | Ask Melody A Question ]

When you get to know him better and then you think yeah i like him then you should maybe think about going out with him.
Find out more about him to see if hs the sort of person who would go out with someone just to have a gf and then make up your mind.
hope this helps
