Another Emo Question 4m Mrs. Uchiha, pth...

Question Posted Monday October 8 2007, 7:14 pm

13/F

I'm emo. I go by the labels in my skool so deal with it. Well, I hear we should waer gith black jeans and cut ourselves. I don't like tight jeans, they make my ass look bigger than it already is, hahaha. And I can barely handle a shot at the doctors place, hahaha, so I can't do either of those things. I don't have to do those things, do I? Don't talk to me about don't cut yourself, I already know that. But I want to know, do I have to? Because, emo means emotional. (Dictionary) Obviously I'm emotional, weirdos. (didn't mean it in a rude way, just proving a point) Can yawls help me???? ^/_\^

Stop trying to be something your not.
it doesnt work, and when its done you feel really stupid.

Emo is short for emotional, but the Emo scene doesnt stand for emotional. It's for the emotionally troubled, but you don't need to be emo to have emotional problems.

It's pointless.

You don't need to wear tight pants to fit in, and I wont even bother talking about cutting, your just too young, and apparently dont know just what your getting into yet.

Instead of labeling yourself [which is really pathetic], why don't you find out who you are. You're obviously not into what people are stereotyping you as, and you're not into what you're labeling yourself as, so why be that? Be yourself. Find out what you like & do what you like.

And no, you don't have to cut yourself & wear tight jeans just because society says you have to. Fuck society. Do things your own way. And stop saying "yawls." You sound more rediculous than usual.

wow
first of all emo doesn't mean emotional. it's a type of music [emotive hardcore]. if it meant emotional everyone would be "emo" because everyone is/can be emotional. so why don't you try being yourself? dress how you like and deffinantly don't cut yourself or be something your not to fit into a label. stay true to yourself.

I don't even know how to answer this question without making it extremely long and harsh.
REALITY CHECK:
"I hear we should wear black jeans and cut ourselves"
What the heck? NO.
"I don't have to do those things, do I?"
NO.
I think you need to do a little research on what Emo really is and stop turning it into the worst stereotype ever made.
It's okay to be emotional, but you don't have to get that point across by dressing like the rest of your emo chums and cutting yourself to prove you're sad etc
.......................
Google emo clothes if you wish.
Or you could stand out from the crowd and be you.

Usually I try not to take a question to "heart" but this one, I can't help. This is my opinion, and although it wasn't asked for, I'm going to give it anyways.

Honey, you have ALOT and I mean ALOT of growing up to do if you would consider trying to cut yourself in order to go in the "emo tradition" that is the craziest thing I've ever heard of. I'm well aware that you did say, that basically it wasn't in you to do somthing like that but you also stated "I don't have to do those things, do I? Don't talk to me about don't cut yourself, I already know that. But I want to know, do I have to?" Which gives off the idea, that you would if you were "supposed to". What ever happened to just being your self? You can be a emotional person without having to label yourself as anything.

Stop watching fucking Naruto and then I can begin my rant on why emo is stupid and idiotic.

Not to be rude, but did you just randomly choose a stereotype off of a list & decide to try to fit into it? If you're really having to ask how to be emo, then it means you're not.

No, if you cut yourself just because of labels all it's doing is looking for attention and it's not worth it.
And no, you don't have to wear skinny jeans, generally GUYS that are emo wear them. Girls have a lot more freedom with clothing.
