Cheerleading forces everyone to be the stereotypical blonde thin girl. One girl I saw had to dye her hair lighter, because they said it made her look too ethnic. This would NOT be a good choice. You can make maybe $300 a year on it, and sometimes you LOSE money for deductions on paying tanning salons, plastic surgeons, etc. Modeling puts pressure to be ultra-thin and gorgeous, and fire you if you gain 2 pounds, or get a pimple. I know it seems like I'm being over-dramatic, but it's true. You can get an agent, and show your stuff to Disney Channel, and Ford models. Ford is the least likely to put the skinny-pressure on girls, on my opinion. They're really wholesome. You can even try getting jobs at places like H&M, Nordstrom, Macy's, etc. Hope this works out for you! And remember, have fun! [ missbananafontana's advice column | Ask missbananafontana A Question ]

thefish answered Saturday September 29 2007, 7:13 pm: Well, I can't tell you what to do to achieve your acting goals, but I can tell you that it's totally okay not to know exactly what you want to do. I am 19, in college, and I still have a very vague idea. And guess what? Most of the people here don't either. And I bet all of your friends will change their mind at one point. Don't listen to people who tell you that you can't, they're just trying to bring you down. And if it doesn't work out, life goes on. [ thefish's advice column | Ask thefish A Question ]
Mandy1166 answered Saturday September 29 2007, 5:13 pm: Just like all the others who awnserd the question said... its not up to your friends to choose is up to you and you can choose to do whatever you want.
Yet what you want to do might be rough, especialy with no expireience...
Try singing up for some theater classes... get a part time job as a modle... Theres adds and stuff in the newspaper... heck even if its for department store clothing catalog... everyone has to start somewere... try some fashion desing classes that are probly offerd at your school or comubity center.. or college classes.
Basicly just get expirienced... its hard to be discoverd if you havn't done anything in that field.
hope this helps! [ Mandy1166's advice column | Ask Mandy1166 A Question ]

If you have dreams to be a model or actress, then you CAN become one. Ricky Ullman and Christy Carlson Ramano both came from small towns in CT, and look that them now.
I live in a really small town, and i want to become a professional ballet dancer. Sure, youll have to travel to wherever your career takes you, but i think you could become a model or actress.
Take some acting or modeling classes first, make sure its what you REALLY want to do. And if thats what you want, look into finding an agent and keep your eyes peeled for casting calls and stuff like that.
