For 1 I AM straight!
I'm really just wondering a couple things... haha idk why they just interest me.
1. Why do they call it a dick?
2. lets say there a lesbian who acts like a boy, and a gay guy that acts like a girl, couldnt they go out b/c they would go together! you know what i mean???
3. Why do they teach us stuff about sex in school, when at home parents dont want us to know about it, but then they put us in school???
2) No. The defining characteristic of a homosexual person is an attraction to the same sex. So even if a guy were feminine and a girl masculine, if they both fall under the "gay" category, nether will be attracted to the other.
A common misconception is that guys all act like guys and girls act like girls. Some guys are very feminine, sensitive. Some girls are very butch while still being straight. It takes all kinds to make a world.
3) This is going to be long.
K. First principle. Most people are uncomfortable with sex. In this country we are taught from a very young age that private is private and that means its to be hidden. They arent taught much more than that, because parents arent comfy with talking about something private.
When these people become adults. And these adults are publicly uncomfortable about sex. Moreover, most adults know plenty about it.
So then, these people who are uncomfy about sex with anyone whome they arent actually having sex with have kids, they are uncomfy. Its awkward.
One of the biggest things is trying to figure out how much to tell kids.
Your parents sit there trying to come up with words that dont sound as bad so that they dont have to say things in front of you that would get you suspended if you repeated them in school.
So these parents who dont know what to say to their kids, and feel really uncomfy trying, decided it would be easier to allow schools to teach you about sex. Teachers are trained to do it. They dont turn red when the kids giggle. They actually have answers to alot of your questions that your parents either wouldnt have or wouldnt want to tell you (or wouldnt know how to tell you)

its just slang for it , it sounds better than penis to me.
just like how we say pussy instead of vigina .
2. why a lesbian & a gay guy couldn't do all that is because a lesbian is attracted to girls and a gay guy is attracted to boys .
3. The school wants us to learn stuff that we don't know about , its health .
Razhie answered Saturday September 29 2007, 12:48 pm: 1.) The use of word "dick" as coarse slang for penis first arises around 1890. No one is quite certain why. Vulgar words are hard to trace. It was a common male name, like john, and just picked up that connotation.
2.) They wouldn't go together. A gay guy would not be attracted to a woman, nor would a lesbian woman be attached to any kind of man. It's not about them 'going together'. It's about what they are attracted too. If they aren't attracted to each other, sexually or romantically, then it aint going to work, period.
Gender roles and sexual orientation is FAR more complicated then what you ‘act like’. You can never identify a homosexual by the way they act. The only people those labels should be applied to our people who have chosen them for themselves. A self-identified ‘girl’ who dated a self-identified ‘guy’ would probably not call herself a lesbian eh?
3.) The law says you must go to school. Parents who REALLY don’t want their kids knowing about sex sometimes choose home school or private schools where they have greater control. But many parents know you must know something about sex in order to be safe and functioning people. They are just too chicken-shit to tell you themselves, so they shut up and let the school do it. 2. Lesbians are attracted to female bodies, not female tendancies. The same goes for gays; they don't necessairaily want the butch behaviors of a guy. They just want the male body parts. Physical attraction has nothing to do with personality.
3. It's not that your parents don't want you to know about sex, they just don't want you to think you should have sex with everyone on your block. It's important you have the ability to make informed decisions. Becides, your parents aren't the only ones who count. There are kids in your school who grew up hearing (and even expieriencing) this stuff and would probably have benifited from hearing it even sooner at school, because at school it's taught in an educational and informative manner. It's important for everyone's needs to be taken into account. [ scootermclisle's advice column | Ask scootermclisle A Question ]

2. no, they are homosexual. they are attracted to a person of the same gender.
3. they teach safe sex in school. parents want their kids to be safe, and sex is a part of life haha. so schools think its important to teach kids how to be safe.
