Weellll instead of giving a list of places with no background information or opinion, ill answer your question the way you asked. I work at a zoo. Im the assistant. Sometimes I run the register, sometimes I run errands, sometimes I have to feed animals and clean enclosures. Its not all a zoo job cracks up to be, but I have very interesting days haha. Im 19 years old, female. My first job was at H.E.B when I was 16 or 17, it was very fun. It was an easy good paying job with good benifits, its a wonderful company to work for. You meet a TON of new interesting people, you make a lot of new friends, and have a good time. After that, when I was 18 I worked at a Retirement home, as a server in the dining room. So I was a waitress, ive heard its a good way to make money fast out of tips, but your hourly pay is something like 5.50. In my case I got $8 an hour, but didnt get any tips. Being in an old folks home I can say it was interesting, but youd have more fun in a place like applebees or chilis. Hope youve found what you were looking for! :]

As much as I dread saying these words, I'll say them anyways: I have no job. I consider my column my job.

However, there are loads of jobs out there, however it depends on the store. I'm not sure how old you are or even if you're a male/female since you didn't specify, but I'll give you some jobs I think are suitable for a teenager around 16/17 years old.

You could work at places like:

- Hot Topic.
- Journey's.
- Pac Sun.
- American Eagle.
- Victoria's Secret.
- FYE.
- Rue 21.
- 5.7.9.
- Wet Seal.
- Lola.
- Zumies.
- Abercrombie & Fitch.
- Hollister.
- Charlotte Russe.
- H&M.
- Spencer's.
- Best Buy.
- McDonald's.
- Burger King.
- Arby's.
- Pizza Places [Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Domino's, etc].
- Wendy's.
- Dollar Tree/Store/King/Whatever.
- Petco!
- PetSmart.
- KB Toys.
- Lola.
- Dots.
- Movie Theatre.
- BlockBuster.
- Subway.
- A local grocery store.
- Library. [I have a girlfriend who works there, & it's not volunteer work. She actually gets paid a good amount of money, so you might wanna check & see if they have positions available.]
- Walgreens.
- Rite-Aid.
- Dunkin Donuts.
- Tim Hortons.
- Krispy Kreme.
- Denny's.
- EB Games.
- Starbucks. [They hire at 18, though.]
- A cookie shop @ the mall.
- An ice cream shop.
- Applebee's.
- Taco Bell.
- Popeye's.
- KFC.

Places like that usually hire around 16, sometimes 15 if you're lucky. I would apply to places to like that & keep calling them & bugging them. You'll get an interview when you're persistent & you'll eventually get the job. Good luck!
