Yes, they were racist, but also anti-Semitic. They disliked Jews, but only just more than half of those persecuted were Jews.
You are right; Jewish is NOT a race. I am Jewish be faith, and by nothing else. My ancestry is Russian, Polish, and a liiiiiittle German, as is the same for most other Jews whose ancestors were Jewish. Israel is a country, and Israeli also is not a race. Middle Eastern best describes people of Israeli descent, many of whom are NOT Jewish.
There's not really ONE word for "religionist" it kinda just depends on which religion you're talking about. ]
nazis were prejudice against jewish people. predudice can stand for race, religion, or anything. like you could be prejudice against people with blonde hair. (thats just an example it can work for anything) ]

Yes, the Nazis were racist.
'Racism is a belief or concept that inherent differences between people (such as those upon which the concept of race is based) determine cultural or individual achievement, and may involve the idea that one's own 'race' is superior.'
Racism is not restricted to different races. It also includes different cultures. For example, referring to gypsies/romanies as 'gyppos' is considered racist.
A Jew is not just a follower of Judaism, they can also be a member of the Jewish race, an ethnic group originating from the Middle East. This is why some Jews have certain physical characteristics such as dark hair and eyes etc.

In addition, the Nazis persecuted black people, homosexuals and the disabled. A word for this is prejudice, which means having a preconceived idea about a person/group of people without knowing them or looking at the facts. The Nazis had decided that these people were inferior without just cause. ]
