What is wrong with you?

Question Posted Thursday August 16 2007, 8:20 pm

Yeah! So the title means what is going on in your life. Often times it makes me feel better when I read that other people have problems and that I'm not the only one who is going through a dark and lonely stage. Okay so what are you going through? I would really love to know how life's been treating you even if you're happy. I really want to know. Please don't get offened by my question.

I actually wish more people on the site asked questions like this. They're actually interesting to answer.

I'm not going to get all gloomy on you, but my life right now is actually pretty horrible. Two weeks ago, my boyfriend passed away while serving in Iraq. Everyone has such little problems compared to that, and things I thought were SUCH a HUGE deal are completely microscopic now. I had a fight with my mom. SO WHAT? My boyfriend broke up with me. SO WHAT!? Honestly, it's not a big deal. You still have those people in your life, shit blows over. Nothing lasts forever, except death. Problems like that don't even count as problems. Try waking up realizing your boyfriend is still dead. It doesn't sound good, does it?

Another thing besides that is that school is starting soon, and my boyfriend went to my school. I hate my school enough as it is, but now I have a constant reminder like "Oh, my boyfriend probably sat in this desk, or this classroom or my boyfriend probably used this locker." It's a piece of shit problem to deal with, and I don't like to face it even though I know I have to. Personally though, I just wanna graduate.

Another thing wrong with my life is that I'm not really rich. I'm actually pretty poor, but nobody believes me because of how spoiled I am. I'm a spoiled girl, but I have to BEG my mother for the things she buys me. She just used to buy me them when I asked, no questions asked, but now we have to argue in order for her to get me things. I'm not expecting any type of Christmas this year. Not only that, but my parents are divorcing. I always thought my parents would last forever, but now that it's finally hitting me that they're not & that I'm not gonna really have my dad anymore, it sucks. He's not much of a father, but I still love him.

I'm not going to keep going on about all the negatives though. Yes, my boyfriend's dead, I have no type of family structure at home, I'm on tight ends with money, and I hate my highschool, but that's life. It eventually gets better & I'll find a way to manage, I always do. I'll never get over the death of my boyfriend, but I know that he's around me & watching out for me.

Listen, I went through some bad stuff.
But I changed my outlook on life, and now I'm going to share it with you.
So something bad happens to you, you can either:
A. Be all dark about forever.
B. Just get over it and move on.
When you choose A, it's pointless. There's nothing you can do but act depressed, but why? It won't change what's happened or whatever's bringing you down. It'll only make you feel worse.
If you take my adivce and pursue B, now we're talking. So something bad happened, so what? Go make something good happen! Forget about the bad things that are happening, and focus on the good.
Everything happens for a reason, or at least, that's how I see things. Why focus on all the negative things?
I'm a really happy person right now. I look at the positive things, and surround myself with people who I like and who I trust.
That's another thing, don't hang out with people sut because they're "cool".
Hope this helps =]

Nothing is wrong with me.

I'm happier than I can ever remembering being. This summer I learned of a movie called "The Secret." It will change your life! It's about how you are in total control of everything in your life. The happier your thoughts are the happier you will be!

Really, my life is good right now. I have good friends and had a great summer. I'm actually really looking foward to school. Yes, I've had bad times in the past and I used to be so caught up in making everyone happy. Then a quote from Little Miss Sunshine made it all better- "You do what you love, and fuck the rest."

This probably won't help much- but honestly, my life is great. I am going to a brand new high school in my district this fall- I mean its NEW- not redone, but NEW! Its amazing. Seriously.
You might think that someone can only be this happy with a girlfriend. Well that's wrong- because I've been single for almost a year- and I'm GREAT! Seriously- I don't know what I was thinking getting a girlfriend- I don't really need one. Sure- if a great girl comes along, I might pursue her- but I'm certainly not searching for one [at least now] =D.

I'm not trying to act like I haven't had dark times- but honestly, I realized that its just dumb to be all emo and upset all the time. I like being happy and excited about life.
Sometimes I even wake up- knowing I'm not doing anything special- and I am still just happy to be alive and kicking.

Try doing crazy things to feel better. Like name a piece of grass and introduce it to random people on the street. Anything that can make you laugh. It might be best to do ridiculous things with a friend- so you can laugh about it later =D.

I'm not going to answer this question but I have a recommendation. Reading books about people with problems may help you, even if you don't like reading. Try these:

Cut by Patricia Mccormick
Crank by Ellen Hopkins
Burned by Ellen Hopkins
Impulse by Ellen Hopkins
Smack by Melvin Burgess
Go Ask Alice by Anonymous
Pure by Rebbecca Ray
Candy by Luke Davies
Beauty Queen by Linda Glovach

What am I going through? I've had those dark and lonely times only a few times, because I really rather laugh then cry. My life is going alright at the moment. I'm done with my summer job, and I cant wait for school to start. Hope I helped...your need to know how others are? lol.
