photo color.

wat is a good easy program to do photo work. ex. black and white pictures with some spots in color. my sister in law has a program where you make the picture black and white and the back picture be color and you "erase" the black and white part that you want color, and the color will show thorugh, understand?? ne'ways i want a good photoshop program please help me out!

most people would say photoshop, but i know you dont want to spend that kind of money.
so if you google "serif photo editor" its exactly like photoshop, but its free!
also this program called picasa is free if you
google it!
you can easily brighten pictures or do that blace and white thing!

I use Photoshop and I think it's the best photo editing software I've used. The range of tools is extensive and with some practice, you can produce some really high quality stuff. While it is brilliant, it is slightly difficult to master at first and it is also very expensive.

Another option is Paint Shop Pro. It's cheaper and slightly simpler than Photoshop but has many of the features people most commonly use, such as only colouring certain parts of a picture. I used PSP before I got Photoshop, which was helpful as they have similar set-ups and it served as a good introduction to photo editing.

If you only want to do some simple editing then I would suggest PSP. However, if you're looking for something more advanced then I highly reccomend Photoshop.
