blonde or blond

can you call hair blonde or blond
and is someone blond or blonde?

It really doesn't matter. Both are correct.

the word comes from french. in french, blond refers to male hair and blonde refers to female hair. in english, hair is neither male or female. both words work for either and generally someone chooses one for both since english does not have as strict rules about gender.

I generally say blonde.

However, you must understand where blond or blonde comes from. That is France. In the French language "blond" is the male version and "blonde" is the female version.

However, in the English language you can use either.
