Question Posted Thursday August 2 2007, 12:59 am

alright. im 17 and my boyfriend is turning 20. just for back ground details.
for his birthday i want to make him dinner. i just dont know what to cook for him. im not a pro chef or anything but i guess im not that bad. he likes italian food a lot...soo any ideas?

and then any ideas just for like setting up the dinner its self? i was kinda thinking of setting up a table outside on my deck because it will be a nice summer night and i live on a lake with a good view of the sunset.

Cheat a little: Order a nice meal and warm it up in the oven before he arrives.

Or visit grouprecipes.com for easy meals based on what you already have in your pantry.

That's a good idea. Maybe make him spaghetti? Haha, I'm not too good with Italian food. This isn't Italian, but how about crab legs, lobster, and/or shrimp. That could be really romantic if he's into seafood. I don't think it's too hard to make. It's basically just reading directions. Maybe get a few candles, too. Then, after you could just go by the lake.

Here's a site with Italian recipies:

For dinner, maybe pasta and chicken? Like grill chicken on the side with the pasta. Or once my mom actually put the chicken in the sauce, it was so good. Make sure its a homemade sauce.

I think that dinner idea is great. It would be so pretty outside and romantic haha. Maybe some candles in the middle of the table, or flowers?

I'm sure it'll go by smoothly.

You can look up italian recipes on the internet. Im thinking any kind of pasta would be great, and a steak maybe to go along with it. Steak is simple and you can always know when its done.

With the table you should make it so both of you can see the sunset. Have it set up nice. Plates, napkins, You know so it e=will look a little fancy. And to top it all off, you should burn a cd with his favortie slow songs on it and play it low in the backround.
