About a year ago I stopped eating meat and wearing leather. My parents are foreign and don't understand it at all. They bought me a jacket and it's lovely. On the tag it says "genuine leather- 100% nylon, 100% polyester."
I know genuine leather means real leather but my friend told me that nylon and polyester are vegan? I don't understand how that works.
Is the jacket real leather or fake? Can leather be REAL if it's not made from animals? What is nylon and polyester??
and the jacket wasn't too expensive and I know real leather is supposed to be really expensive.

All I can tell you is, feel the jacket. If it feels like animal skin, it probably is. Compare the feel of it to the feel of a real leather jacket. That's the only way to tell if it's really leather. [ Amarete's advice column | Ask Amarete A Question ]
