What exactly is it? How do they do it?
And do you guys believe in it or not?
I'm not pregnant and I will never get an abortion, I'm just curious. I don't know much about it, I only know they kill the baby but I think people should only do it if they get raped.
iantnocidychick answered Wednesday August 8 2007, 6:37 pm: Well I guess you probably know what it is from all the other answers. I don't agree with it, ever. There are different way that its done, taking the baby out limb from limb(killing it eventually), there is a way which is kind of like a vaccum, and then I've also heard of a way where they put some sort of salt or acid solution(or something) in the womens womb which eats away at the baby. And there may be more ways.
I don't like it at all and I would be glad to adopt anyones baby if the mother didn't want him/her.

This can occur spontaneously as a miscarriage, or be artificially induced by chemical, surgical or other means. "Abortion" can refer to an induced procedure at any point during human pregnancy; it is sometimes medically defined as either miscarriage or induced termination before the point of viability.[1] Throughout history, abortion has been induced by various methods. The moral and legal aspects of abortion are subject to intense debate in many parts of the world."
*Kate* answered Monday July 30 2007, 9:21 pm: I think that it should be allowed only up to the first 3 months of pregnancy or less. I think that it is a womans right to choice, and not the government, but I also think that a limit on how long you can wait should be enforced. Also if we taught sex education in our schools, and people had easier access to birth control and the emergency contraceptive pill, there would be very few abortions in the USA
I found this information off of teenwire.com
Abortion is the termination of pregnancy before birth.
Abortion is legal for about the first six months of pregnancy. After that, most states ban abortions, except in limited circumstances, like saving the woman's life or preserving her health. However, most abortion providers perform abortions only in early pregnancy.
Abortion is a very safe procedure. It's about twice as safe as having your tonsils removed, and is 10 times safer than giving birth if it is performed before the 18th week of pregnancy. Most abortions — 90 percent — are performed in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy
There are 3 different types of abortions:
Medication abortion is the use of medicine to end pregnancy. There are three steps. The first step, your clinician will give you a dose of methotrexate or mifepristone. The second step, you will take another medication called misoprostol. The third step, you will return to your clinician for a follow-up visit.
The others are vacuum aspiration and D&E [dilation and evacuation]
Vacuum aspiration empties the uterus with gentle suction of a manual syringe or with machine-operated suction.
Performed with a manual syringe, it is known as manual vacuum aspiration or MVA.
Performed with machine-operated suction and the use of a curette — a narrow metal loop used to remove the tissue that lines the uterus — it is sometimes called dilation and suction curettage or D&C.
D&E is a two-part procedure. The cervix is slowly opened. The procedure is completed by emptying the uterus using a combination of suction and medical instruments. [ *Kate*'s advice column | Ask *Kate* A Question ]

Redbloof answered Monday July 30 2007, 7:37 pm: An abortion is when they kill the baby before it grows in your belly. I dont believe in it unless there is no possible way you can live with it. [ Redbloof's advice column | Ask Redbloof A Question ]
