I suggest you find something to do to take your mind off of eating because you're bored. The best thing you could do in this situation would be to BREAK THE HABIT, so that's what you should do. Just cut down on the snacks and occupy yourself more.. also replace the snakes with something healthy.
If you're watching television and eating it causes you to eat more as well, because you don't pay attention to how much you're eating.

I have the exact same problem. I try to keep myself busy but I usually end up snacking while I'm on the computer (which was how I was trying to keep myself busy in the first place!) So I know how you feel. I think what works best is trying to just drink water. A lot of times people don't know their thirst from hunger, and water will help. I still snack when I'm not hungry too, but if you get in the habit of only water you should be fine. It's helping me =]

My friend has this problem too.

Find ways to occupy yourself. Stay away from your kitchen. If you have a tv in your room, and a computer. Just stay in there intill you're ready to go to bed. Like, in my room, I have a tv, my computer, and then i have an ps3 too. So, i can stay pretty busy, and not worry about food. I'm not sure if you have all of that too. But like, maybe talk to someone on the phone, or on the computer, like stay in your office or wherever you keep ur computer.

just find ways to keep yourself busy. it will take awhile probably for you to get out of the habbit, but just tell yourself no, and it will eventualyl get really easy to stop.

and if that doesnt help you. because like. you dont have a tv in your room, and your family room is next to your kitchen or something, or your computer is in your kitchen or something? ahah then, find really really low caloria snacks. or fruit or something. or ice. i love sucking on ice. so maybe try that? and if you want some flavor too it, add a little lemon juice, and some no calorie sugar. (:

i hope that helped.
