Don't focus on the brand name, it doesn't mean anything. Laptop components are made by the same companies.
I see we have a lot of Mac fans here! Macs come pre-loaded with OS X, which a fine, Unix-based Operating System. However, you won't be able to run windows-only programs on it, like MS Word(You'll have to buy a different version) or Internet Explorer. Apple computers have allot of neat stuff on them though but are allot more expensive and I heard allot slower than dells. My sister got one when she went to college and it broke twice. But maybe you'll have better luck with one.
