I haven't started my period yet. But my discharge comes out in clumps, Recently, it smells really weird and is a yellowish color. It's not like it normally is. So is something wrong??
Additional info, added Thursday July 26 2007, 8:12 pm: I can smell my discharge while I'm using the bathroom. It reeks. And is discolored like I said.
I also have bumpy, itchy things near that area. They start to hurt because I have to itch them so much.
I'm not sexually active...
**any advice on what else to use instead of pantiliners because my discharge is so thick and I have so much that it leaks through a little.
thelaura answered Thursday July 26 2007, 5:10 pm: Yes, something seems to be wrong here.
Discharge can vary in consistency, but definitely shouldn't smell bad and have itchy sores around the area.
Even if you haven't had sex, you still could have an STI.
Without a doctor, it's impossible for you to get a 100% accurate diagnosis.
Don't be embarrassed about it - they see things like this ALL the time.
Get yourself checked out so you don't have to worry.
Good luck. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]
kc answered Thursday July 26 2007, 5:04 pm: It could be some sort of vaginal infection or hormonal imbalance, something that can be cleared up with a simple pill or cream from your doctor. In a serious case it could be an STD if you are sexually active. I believe you should go see a doctor or an gyocolegist instead of asking people on an Advice Column, just in case it's something that can be serious. [ kc's advice column | Ask kc A Question ]

If you aren't sexually active, then it can't be an STD, but if you are, then it could be. They can treat these things fairly easily if they catch it quickly, so you really need to go to a doctor as soon as you can. It isn't going to be bad, but it is important, because something is wrong and you don't want to let it go too long.
